STREET ART #278 – »End of the Line» street art festival in Aalborg, Denmark (8)

This will be my last post from the street art festival in Aalborg. I am really glad that I had the opportunity to be in Aalborg this year. The best part of being there, was for me to see the artists working and in this way follow the development of their work.

This wall is a free standing wall. Most of the artists attending the festival have been painting on wooden boards that was removed after the festival. But because Karolinelund park is used by artists all the year round, this is one of the permanent walls. This work might be here for some time.

More than 30 artists have participated in the 4-day long street art festival in Aalborg. Both local and international artists have produced amazing work at "End of the Line", which is currently Denmark's largest art and music festival. In addition to seeing the artists in action, musical concerts were also held. The 3rd edition of the festival took place from 13th to 16th of August 2026 in the city park called Karolinelund.

This work is painted on the end wall of a huge building in the park. This means the work is not removed right away.

One month later, when I was back in Aalborg, I went to Karolinelund again. The painting was still here. I have tried to compare my photos from August with those in September to check if it really was finished when I had the last look. On the photos from September, I noticed a few more details.

This painting is on the opposite end wall on the same building. I also took this photo in September and noticed it wasn't quite finished in August either. It is great to see that these walls haven't been repainted too quickly after the festival. The inhabitants of Aalborg can still enjoy them. Now I am already looking forward to next years festival.

Watching the artists work in person and following a wall as it develops beats just seeing the finished piece, glad Aalborg gave you that.

Stunning and furious wall with Penguin. I love the little details like the pink flamingo. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

    Have a lovely day... !PIZZA

  • Watching the artists work day by day must have been the best part, and it is great that this wall in the park gets to stay up.
