Hello, Hive friends! Today I’m going to review a great story that my teacher assigned us to read and present in Literature class. It’s about two famous characters named...
Uncle Tiger and Uncle Rabbit

The stories of Uncle Tiger and Uncle Rabbit aren't written by a single specific author; instead, a man named Antonio Arraiz compiled these tales—which had been passed down orally—as part of Venezuelan folklore.
.📖 The story I’m sharing with you is called:
Uncle Tiger, Uncle Rabbit, and the Rock Rolling Down the Hill
It tells the story of how Uncle Tiger once found Uncle Rabbit in the countryside, gathering carrots. Uncle Tiger was delighted to have caught Uncle Rabbit so easily and was getting ready to eat him. However, Uncle Rabbit was very nervous; finding himself with no escape, he came up with an idea. He told Uncle Tiger not to eat him because he was too thin and malnourished—with barely any meat on his bones—so he wouldn't satisfy his hunger and would remain unsatisfied. He proposed that Uncle Tiger wait for him while he went up the hill to bring down a delicious... ...a large, succulent cow. Uncle Tiger, excited and seeing that Uncle Rabbit looked very thin, decided to heed Uncle Rabbit's advice and agreed.
Uncle Rabbit climbed the hill and told Uncle Tiger to wait down below while he fetched the appetizing cow. Since the sun was blazing on the hill, Uncle Tiger couldn't see clearly; Uncle Rabbit told him to spread his arms wide so he could send the cow down. Uncle Tiger opened his arms, and Uncle Rabbit hurled a massive boulder at him, leaving him badly injured for months.
What I really liked about this story is how clever Uncle Rabbit was; instead of confronting Uncle Tiger directly, he chose to use his cunning and trick him with words. He identified Uncle Tiger's weaknesses—such as his greed for more food and his constant desire for larger prey—and took advantage of the sunlight, which hindered Uncle Tiger's vision from below. He used all of this to deceive and defeat him.
This teaches us that sometimes we don't need to be physically strong to achieve what we want; it is enough to be intelligent, carefully consider situations that work in our favor, and act wisely.
I did very well on my literature presentation; I also made a drawing, and the teacher loved it.

STORY
Uncle Tiger, Uncle Rabbit, and the Rock Rolling Down the Hill
One afternoon, Uncle Rabbit was gathering carrots in the field when he heard a terrifying roar. It was Uncle Tiger; claws bared and fangs exposed, he said, "I’ve got you, Uncle Rabbit! You won't escape this time. You’re going to be my dinner." Although frightened, Uncle Rabbit kept his cool and quickly put his wits to work. He looked up at the sky, then at Uncle Tiger, and said in a pitiful tone, "Take a good look at me, Uncle Tiger. I’m just a scrawny, bony little snack. Why settle for so little when you could have a real feast?" Uncle Tiger, who was very ambitious but not very bright, hesitated and asked, "What feast are you talking about?" "Look toward the top of that hill," Uncle Rabbit lied, pointing at the mountain. "I have my cows grazing up there. If you let me, I can go up and bring you the fattest, juiciest cow." Since Uncle Tiger was facing the sun, the light blinded him slightly and he couldn't see clearly, so he accepted the offer. He let the little animal go and waited below with his arms wide open. Uncle Rabbit ran up the hill, leaping for joy. Upon reaching the summit, he searched for the largest, heaviest rock he could find. He braced himself against it and shouted, "Open your arms wide, Uncle Tiger! I’m dragging the plumpest cow down to you!" With all his might, Uncle Rabbit pushed the huge stone. The rock rolled down the mountain at great speed. Uncle Tiger, excited at the thought of his grand dinner, failed to notice the danger until the rock crushed him, leaving him in pain and with battered bones for months. Uncle Rabbit fled into the wild, celebrating yet another victory of wit over brute force. 💡
