Hello everyone!π
These past few days, I have been spending most of my time taking care of Papa. Honestly, it is not easy because I sometimes feel tired and sleepy, especially when I don't get enough sleep at night. I need to watch over him, and when he finally falls asleep, that is also the time I can rest for a while or prepare something to eat.
My siblings bring food for us, and I am thankful because I don't always have the time to prepare meals. But there are also times when I crave something, especially snacks. When Papa is already sleeping, I sometimes go to the kitchen and prepare something for myself. At least, I can enjoy a little break before continuing my responsibilities.
One of my favorite snacks is banana. Papa also loves bananas, especially nilagang saging. Whenever we have some, I boil them so he can enjoy his favorite snack. As for me, I sometimes make ginanggang. I grill the bananas over charcoal and add sugar. I enjoy eating them while they are still warm. Lately, I have noticed that I keep craving sweet foods. Maybe because I am always tired, I want something sweet to satisfy my cravings.
Another snack I enjoy Camote recipe or sweet potato. We have different varieties, including purple and orange sweet potatoes. Sometimes, I just boil them because it is the easiest way to prepare them. But when I want something sweeter, I make camote cue. Simple as they are, these snacks are enough to make me happy, especially when I can eat them after a tiring day
Yesterday, I also craved lumpia, after seeing one of the blog posted yesterday, so I decided to make some. You know, sometimes, when I feel tired, preparing something I want to eat makes me feel better. Hehe! Food is my stress reliever! My eldest brother also sends us kakanin from time to time because selling snacks and kakanin is his business. I am always happy when he shares some with us.
Taking care of Papa has changed my daily routine. I cannot always do the things I want because I need to prioritize him. There are times when I feel exhausted, but I am still thankful that I can be here with him. While taking care of Papa, I also try to find simple ways to take care of myself.
For me, happiness does not always come from expensive food or big celebrations. Sometimes, it is just a warm grilled banana, boiled kamote, homemade lumpia, or kakanin shared by my family. These little things make my tiring days a little sweeter.
