We popped down to our local café to check out its brand new look after the recent refurbishment.
The place has always been cosy and still has that lovely feel, with warm lighting, dark wooden tables and quirky artwork hanging on the walls.
The staff create a friendly atmosphere, and it seems to rub off on the customers too, as people tend to make friends in there. It really is a lovely place to sit down and relax, whether you are with someone or enjoying a bit of time on your own.
I decided to get properly into the winter spirit by ordering a trendy hazelnut latte made with oat milk. It was lovely and smooth, and very sweet! It was perfect for warming up on a chilly morning.
My friend opted for a classic cappuccino with oat milk. She even insisted that I take a photo of her coffee complete with her lipstick mark left near to the rim of the cup, which made me laugh!
We ordered a bit of food to go alongside our drinks. My friend had a simple ham wrap that came with a side of tasty sauce and pea shoots. It was pretty busy, but it's easy to see why it's so popular, with the staff being so friendly. Someone else had pre-booked the table, so we had an hour to eat and drink up before Natalie x3 turned up!!
I went for my all time favourite, a vegetarian breakfast loaded with a fried egg, grilled tomatoes, juicy mushrooms, crispy hash browns, grilled halloumi, baked beans and toast. Everything was cooked just how I like it.
Apart from the coffee, another highlight of the visit was meeting Princess. She is a very sweet three legged dog who was curled up fast asleep on one of the chairs. I think her owner said that she is around sixteen years old. She was just living her best life, tucked up on a little blanket.
It was lovely to spend time in the newly refurbished café, enjoy some good food and catch up with a friend over a hot drink. And of course, meeting Princess made the visit even more special!
