I have just started dog sitting my friend’s dog today, but I am quite experienced with dogs, so it is nothing new for me. I always enjoy having a dog around and getting out for walks.
Today we went for a walk for #wednesdaywalk initiated by @tattoodjay through the woods and around the campsite. It was nice to have a dog with me, and he seemed to enjoy being out and exploring the area. There were lots of new smells and things for him to look at.
Midway through our loop, the weather turned and we got caught in a short rain shower. The leaves were glistening with fresh raindrops afterward, making the woods feel fresher.
The campsite was also a nice place to walk around. It was fairly relaxed, and we passed a pair of iconic red telephone boxes standing side by side.
Back in the woods and along the path, through the trees, the rowan branches were heavy with clusters of bright red berries, adding a splash of colour to the greenery.
It was a good first walk together, and he settled in right away. I already enjoy walking through the woods, but having a dog along made it even better. He loved taking his time, sniffing around, and exploring. I am looking forward to spending more time with him over the next few week. Hopefully we will have plenty more walks while I am looking after him.
