The title of this movie is Heaven Must Wait, and I want to make my review based on the parts that really touched my heart. I really felt something in me when I watched this movie. The kind of cry that I had in this movie even surprised me myself. This movie made me cry as if I was shedding water. Heaven Must Wait has really taught me a lot. I don't think I have watched a Nigerian emotional movie that made me cry like this movie in my life.
This movie came out in 2026, and it is about a class teacher and a young man. These two people did not have peace between them at all. The young man has a daughter, and the mother is dead, so he is the only one taking care of the child. The teacher is the one teaching his daughter in school, but these two people just don't like each other. Whenever they meet, they must fight and quarrel. The man even insults her, saying that she wears one hairstyle and one shoe every day and that she is not ashamed of herself for wearing the same clothes every day. The lady gets very upset whenever he says things like that, and that is how they keep quarreling.
This class teacher also has a difficult time with her students. Whenever she is teaching in the classroom, some of the students keep looking for her trouble. They make unnecessary noise just to disturb her, and some of them even throw objects at her while she is writing on the chalkboard. They take her for granted and don't respect her at all, including the child of the young man. All of them are very mean to her.
But after some time, the young man's daughter becomes friends with the class teacher, and she even starts doing home lessons with her. The father is not happy about it, but he has no choice because his daughter wants the teacher to become her home lesson teacher.
After some time, the man and the teacher later become best friends because she keeps coming to his house to teach his daughter. They become close and start playing together. The man starts telling her about his life and his wife. He tells her that he loved his wife so much, but she died, and that is why he doesn't want to fall in love again because anyone he falls in love with could break his heart.
But when he is with the teacher, he starts feeling something different. He tells her that he loves her, and she also tells him that she loves him. That is how they become boyfriend and girlfriend, and he even promises to marry her. They keep sharing their stories together, but the teacher doesn't tell him anything deep about her own life. She is just listening to his story, and he doesn't know that there is something serious killing her inside that she has not told him.
When they were at home one night, she had already started living in his house because they were preparing to get married. She went outside and entered the parlour, where she started crying deeply. She didn't shed tears at first, but nobody knows what is inside another person's heart.
The man, who was now her boyfriend, came in and saw her crying. He asked her why she was crying, but she told him that nothing was wrong and that she was just not feeling normal. She told him that everything was fine and that nothing was disturbing her. But the man felt that there was something she was hiding from him. He just let it go because she said nothing happened.
After some time, she could no longer keep hiding the strongest secret that had been holding her down for her entire life. She decided to open up to him. She was crying deeply again when the man came in and saw her crying. He asked her the reason why she was crying, and she finally opened up to him.
She told him that she was having blood cancer and that she had been living with it for a very long time. She said that she was already about to die and didn't think she had much time left to continue living on this earth. The doctors had already told her how serious her condition was.
The man felt so bad. He was seriously hurt and tried to calm her down while she was also crying. They then decided to go to the hospital for a checkup to confirm what was really happening because the man could not believe that such a terrible sickness was affecting her.
Immediately the next morning, they arrived at the hospital and she went through some tests. They found out that she was having blood cancer and that it was a chronic one. The doctor told the man that she had just about one month left to live and that he did not think she could pass one month because what she had was not just ordinary blood cancer. It was already chronic.
The man begged the doctor and cried deeply. He told him that whatever amount it would cost, even if it was all his savings in this life, he would use it for her treatment. He said he didn't want her to die because he loved her so much and didn't want to lose her. He cried deeply, but there was nothing they could do because the sickness was already too serious and she was already late for treatment.
After the man heard everything, his daughter, who had become the best friend of the teacher, also heard about it. She could not sleep at night and started shedding tears like water. Even though the teacher was not her biological mother, the kind of crying she did was more than someone who was only close to her. This teacher was just like a mother to her.
She couldn't stop crying because of the love she had for the teacher. The father was also crying because he truly loved her and did not want to lose her. They both loved her so much, and knowing that the sickness had left only a few days for her to live was something terrible. They could not even imagine what was going to happen to her.
The man then started searching for how to treat someone with chronic blood cancer when they were about to die. The only advice he found was that he should treat such a person nicely, play with them, make sure they don't feel alone or bad, and always buy gifts for them so they can feel special.
This was exactly how he started treating her, and he even did more than what he read. He always bought gifts for her and kept her company. He was a very big man in his office because he was the CEO, but he stopped going to work and stayed at home to take care of her. He made sure she didn't lack anything and also kept praying for her healing.
One day, while they were together playing, she told him that she wanted them to go for a walk. He immediately agreed because he wanted her to feel happy. As they were walking, she suddenly complained that she was tired, so they decided to find a place and rest for a while before continuing.
While he was still keeping her company, she said these words to him, and what she said really made me cry:
Thank you so much for everything you have done to me, the care, the love and everything. I wish I have many days on this earth so we can be together. Also send my regards to your daughter. Tell her that I love her so much from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much, I love you
The man started telling her that he loved her so much too, but asked her not to say those kinds of words because she would still be alive with him and she would not die.
But while he was still talking to her, she slowly started going down, and this was how she fell down flat and died.
The man did not know how to start crying. He rolled on the ground with her and cried so deeply. Everyone started feeling pity, and everyone was crying. Even when the students at the school heard about her death, they cried because of the wicked things they had done to the teacher and the insults they had given her. They had insulted her for wearing the same clothes without knowing that she was using all her money to buy drugs for her sickness.
The students cried badly, and everyone felt the pain of losing a good person who had just passed away.
I have watched so many Nigerian movies, but this movie really made me cry like a little baby. I shed tears like water from the part where they found out that she was having chronic blood cancer until the end of the movie.
