Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is actually a sequel to Puss In Boots (2011). It is a one hour forty two minutes (1h 42m) movie directed by Joe Crawford and Januel P. Mercado.

The legendary Puss in Boots, being blinded by the possession of nine lives as a cat, moved about from place to place doing adventures and taking dangerous risks, until eventually, he discovered that he was down to his last life.
Things turned around; the fun, the adventures were no longer the deal, as the Big Bad Wolf, also known as Death, was after him to take the last life he had.
Puss in Boots, who laughs in the face of death, suddenly became vulnerable and scared of death.
He had to run for his life; the legend gave up everything he had and was adopted by Mama Luna, who loves cats and cares for them.
Puss met Perrito, a stray dog who disguised himself as a cat just to have a family, and Perrito likes him.
Unfortunately, just when Puss was beginning to enjoy his miserable life, Goldilocks and her bear family came and attacked the house in search of Puss so he could help them steal the map that leads to a mysterious wishing star, which has the ability to grant one wish.
Puss’s hope came alive when he heard about the wishing star and was prepared to do anything to get it so that he could restore his nine lives and go back to being the fearless hero he used to be.
Eventually, he met Kitty Softpaws, who used to be the love of his life, but things were complicated between them, and they became a team of three: Puss, Perrito, and Softpaws.
Together they went in search of the wishing star; however, that is just the beginning of the war, as Puss has to confront three enemies: the Big Bad Wolf, Jack Horner, and Goldilocks and her family.
This movie is one of a kind, and the studio work was epic. It's more than just a movie; it's reality captured by the camera for those who have the wisdom to learn from.
This movie teaches a lot about love, family, greed, hate, pride, ungratefulness, survival, fear, and overall contentment.
The soundtracks were top-notch and my favorite song in the movie is “Fearless Hero.”
Honestly, everything was properly arranged, and I love how detailed the story was.
I was carried along step by step, and even without watching Puss In Boots (2011), I can relate to the whole thing.
The dark forest was well programmed, and the wishing star was made to look just like what anyone would imagine a wishing star to be, and that is beautiful for me because everyone can have this special feeling seeing what they probably read in books or imagined in their hearts.
The inclusion of action is also a smart idea; the sword fight with the giant and other enemies was quite interesting.
Jack Horner’s bag that carried a lot of magical materials also pleased me well.
Each character in the movie was played well; I can not pinpoint any loophole in any of their performances.
I enjoyed the movie, I will be honest, but I think some parts of the movie aren't going to be very comfortable for children who are not acquainted with scary things.
The whistling from Death is really frightening; even as an adult, I get frightened at some of the scenes.
Everything about the Big Bad Wolf is scary: its red eyes, the cloak, the sickle, and its laughter. The costume was excellent just that it's a little too much, and I feel some people might be haunted by it.
The ending of the movie is very interesting: the villain, Jack Horner, who wanted the wishing star for selfish interests, was terminated, and instead of defeating the Big Bad Wolf, or rather Death, Puss became humble and accepted his fate to have one life.
Meaning that he agreed that death is for all; when the time comes, everyone will have to bow to it.
I have not seen such a happy ending like that of this movie. Each family got united and learned to appreciate what they have, and that says everything about life.
I recommend this movie for everyone who loves action, family, drama, adventure, and love movies, but be warned: some parts are scary, if your kids are easily terrified and traumatized, there is no need to show them this movie.
