Bob Parr, Mr Incredible (Craig T. Nelson), was coerced to give up his superhero life and return to normal life when the superheroes were proscribed following the citizens' complaints about superheroes' activity causing more harm than good.
Bob and his family became regular people; his wife Helen Parr (Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, swiftly adapted and was happy being a housewife and the mother of three, but Bob and the kids found it difficult to cope.
The kids, Violet Parr (Sarah Vowell) and Dash Parr (Spencer Fox), were beginning to discover their superpowers and were curious to explore.
Meanwhile, Bob missed being a hero, and when he could no longer bear it, he and his friend Lucius Best (Samuel L. Jackson), also known as Frozone, secretly began doing their superhero jobs again.
Bob subsequently gets hired by Mirage ( Elizabeth Pena) for a secret operation to destroy some giant robots in a jungle.
However, Bob discovered that the person behind the job was the villain Syndrome (Jason Lee), who was already destroying the superheroes secretly in order to be left as the only hero.
Things went south during one of Bob's operations, and he was caught. But family will always be family; his wife and kids tracked him through the superhero suit he wore to the operation, invented by Edna Mode.
And without hesitation, they came to rescue him. During the rescue mission, they discover Syndrome’s evil intentions, and together they battle Syndrome and his powerful machines.
There are a lot of things that stood out in this movie; Edna's sense of humor was one of them. She stole my heart away with her creative, sarcastic jokes.
Bob was also another comedian in the movie; in fact, all of them were funny and knew just when to bring it up.
The characters were uniquely made with different abilities. Each of the superheroes had their abilities, and giving Bob’s children different responsibilities matching their superpowers was wise; even little Jack-Jack has his incredible powers, and he used them just when it was needed.
The voices were also well-suited to each character; they match perfectly well, and I must confess, I love it.
The action in the movie was remarkable; every action scene nailed it, from the beginning till the end, although the island battles really stood out.
The animation and soundtrack were good; the movie was made for the future. If not for the year that is clearly stated, one can argue that it was made just yesterday.
However, the movie was rushed at some points, especially towards the ending. I expected Syndrome to display certain powers from his technology, but he was quickly taken out of the picture, leaving only his machines.
Some scenes, like where one of the superheroes Bob met dead in a cave, were not detailed; they should have shown something that gives a clue to how those superheroes were lured by Syndrome and terminated.
The ending was a happy one; Syndrome and his machine were defeated, and Bob and his family got back together, accepted responsibilities, and embraced who they are.
I recommend this movie to both adults and children. It's fit for everyone interested in animation, and wants to learn more about family, responsibility, dreams and of course, adventures.
