Cops Misuse Sex Laws To Feed Their Lust For Power

Do you remember the underage sex case against Kaitlyn Hunt down in Florida 13 years ago? She was a teenage student that was dating a girl in her school that was four years younger than her. The problem was that Ms. Hunt was over the legal age of majority and this classmate of hers was only 14 years old when she began having sex with her. What made this news story particularly Earthshattering was that it involved a forbidden lesbian relationship. If you don't remember this case, watch the video below.

A Teenage Adult Named Kaitlyn Hunt Had A Brush With The Law For Her Involvement With A 14-Year-Old Classmate

Political activists in Florida were seeking to pass a law there that would give legal immunity to teenage adults who had sex with teenage minors against statutory-rape charges if both parties were enrolled in the same school. Obviously, these same efforts went nowhere, because, as of recently, police arrested a 19-year-old man for having consensual sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl in his car before they were both to attend a class together at a learning institution in which they were both enrolled. Watch the video about it below.

Police Arrest A 19-Year-Old Youth For Doing Something That Would Have Been Perfectly Legal For A 15-Year-Old Boy To Do With A 14-Year-Old Girl

A former safety officer named Bart narrates this video. First of all, the video is titled "19-Year-Old Caught R*ping 14-Year-Old Student in a Car Before School," which is clearly clickbait inasmuch as nobody got raped in that alleged incident. The 14-year-old girl knew exactly what she was doing. She was not new to it. She was possibly pregnant with this young man's baby.

Lo and behold, like Ms. Hunt, the 19-year-old youth named James Tyler Ooley was also living in Florida when he got arrested for having sexual intercourse with his 14-year-old girlfriend. The police charged him with the same offense that Ms. Hunt got charged with, which was Lewd And Lascivious Act Against A Minor Between 12 And 16 Years Old.

Bart claimed that Mr. Ooley got charged with Lewd And Lascivious Act With A Child. Bart spoke about Mr. Ooley as though it were an injustice that he was considered to be a youthful offender instead of a regular adult offender, and Bart kept talking about him as though he were a 57-year-old man that had grabbed a 4-year-old toddler into his car and had taken her off somewhere to rape and murder her. Then again, Bart is just another dumb cop who loves to sensationalize stories like this and wants to see individuals that fall into Mr. Ooley's situation get slammed with trumped-up charges.

Mr. Ooley caved in and pleaded guilty to the charges against him. The police probably intimidated him, and he likely did not have the money to hire himself a good criminal defense attorney. Fact has it that he never harmed the girl. Yes, I completely get it. He and the young girl were each on opposite sides of the legal age line, but they were both teenagers and they were both classmates at a learning institution. Therefore, they were constantly in each other's lives.

At the end of the day, Mr. Ooley is not a sexual predator, and it is outrageous that he should even have to register with the state of Florida as a convicted sex offender. He never harmed anyone, and the police did everything to ruin his life.

I found out from reading articles about Mr. Ooley online that the judge actually had the audacity to order him to enter an out-patient sex-offender treatment program within 30 days after his release from jail, as well as offense-specific long-term group therapy with other sex offenders. This sentence brings to mind an article I had read so many years ago titled "Age Inappropriate" by Eric Dexheimer.

What stands out so conspicuously clear about comparing Mr. Ooley's situation with that of Curtis Franks described in Mr. Dexheimer's above-cited article is that Mr. Ooley will likely have to share the details of his brush with the law with middle-aged men that have committed heinous sex crimes against kindergarteners, even though his offense bears no resemblance to theirs in terms of severity.

It's interesting how you hear and see stories on the news about police officers running out of a school in cowardice to avoid getting shot at during a school massacre, but they're always acting flamboyant and smug about arresting some young man for having a harmless tryst with a willing teenage girl.

Don't get me started on how appalling it is that Mr. Ooley has to deal with all the humiliation and even lethal dangers of his name and personal information remaining on a sex-offender registry for an extensive period of time. Very few underage boys go through this degradation after they brutally rape a teenage minor. Way too many of them get away with their crimes here in the United States.

Some of you may ask me about my opinion about the 14-year-old girl's parents. I'm not sniping at the father for caring about his daughter. After all, his mother was 14 years old when she had him, and he knows firsthand all the difficulties of growing up in a household in which the mother is financially limited on what she can do in raising him.

Nonetheless, each and every parent out there who has a teenage daughter needs to ask themselves this question. If you were to find out that a 15- or 16-year-old boy got your 14-year-old daughter pregnant, would you be any less angry about it than if it had been a 19-year-old man that did it? Of course, you wouldn't. You'd want to punch out that 15- or 16-year-old boy, but you wouldn't be able to do it without running the risk of going to jail for child abuse.

That is how screwed up our criminal justice system is, and trigger-happy cops absolutely love it inasmuch as it gives them all the power and authority in the world to ruin people's lives. They don't care about the true pursuit of justice, because most of them have no conception of it themselves.

Now, I completely get it. Many Americans believe that being a police officer is a dirty, thankless job, and, to a certain degree, perhaps they are right. However, cops are spending much more time on these frivolous and malicious sex cases than they are stopping actual crimes. You can actually get more police assistance if your 14-year-old sister or daughter is pregnant with a college student's baby than you can if someone tries to burn your house down merely for disagreeing with them over a parking spot.

I know that there were nude pictures involved in the matter of the 14-year-old girl described in the video above. Because she is a minor, those pictures would be considered to be contraband; and if the police officers wished to do something about them, then they have my full blessing. Someone could really do a world of damage to that 14-year-old girl's life if they spread those pictures all over the Internet or even use them to blackmail her.

Nevertheless, I don't feel that under any circumstances did the arresting officers go easy on Mr. Ooley regardless of what Bart had to say about it. Florida should have enacted laws that would prevent police officers from arresting one teenager for having sex with another teenager from their school, even if both teenagers are each on opposite sides of the legal age line. I don't know what happened with the legislation that was being introduced in Florida for that purpose after Kaitlyn Hunt's case made headline news.

Florida has a very poor reputation because of the draconian way they legislate sex laws. The criminal justice system there believes that incarceration is the answer for everything. People shouldn't even think that they and their kids are going to be any safer from crime down there than they will be anywhere else in the United States.

Moral panics have been molding American sex laws for years, and this same trend has spread to other English-speaking nations as well. Power-hungry officers of the law, fanatical self-proclaimed child advocates, radical feminists, and the likes are greatly to blame for it. Because of them, the United States is no longer a desirable place for many people to live. I don't doubt that there are worse places in the world to live, but our nation keeps falling downward on that same totem pole of popularity.

Can we do anything about our decadent criminal justice system in this regard? It's a very high mountain to climb; but if enough people made enough noise, perhaps a glimmer of hope would shine through the dark clouds that hover over us in the form of police oppression.
