Okay. I realize it. Just when you thought that I was beginning to publish human-interest stories about time and space as well as articles about men's phobia to cooking on my PeakD channel, here I am once again delving into highly sensitive and controversial subject matter. Well, I simply could not stay away from these same topics. There are so many videos on YouTube about them, and I have to speak my mind about them even if it's in typewritten words on a computer screen.
I'm not here to bash, insult, attack, or make fun of Rebecca Watson. I'm merely here to criticize a YouTube video of hers that I saw recently, because, throughout it, she continues to get the definition of pedophilia wrong. In a nutshell, "To Catch A Predator" on Dateline NBC had nothing to do with pedophiles or pedophilia. It was merely a teenage- pregnancy-prevention campaign at best. In any event, here is her video below.
Rebecca Watson Describes Her Feelings About The Movie "PRIMETIME" That Maps Out Now-Defrocked Journalist Chris Hansen's Career"
I'm glad that Ms. Watson dislikes Mr. Hansen. She's not the only one. My opinion of him has gone downward throughout the years. However, I cannot agree with her constantly shooting her mouth off that he and Perverted Justice were looking to catch pedophiles. Their online sex-sting operations reeked with entrapment.
The Fifth Edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders ("DSM-5") specifies that a pedophile is someone 16 years of age or older that is sexually attracted to prepubescent children more than five years their junior. Even though the cutoff point for how the DSM-5 defines a prepubescent child as someone less than 13 years of age in this event, it also states therein that if an 11- or 12-year-old minor is in Tanner Stage 2 or higher, then the 16-plus-year-old person five years their senior cannot be diagnosed as a pedophile for being attracted to them.
Now don't get me wrong. I saw both the movies Strangeland and Trust, and I realize that the Internet presents a plethora of dangers to the average American teenage girl. However, here is the elephant in the room.
The majority of Chris Hansen's catches were adult men that were seeking to do the kind of things that would have been perfectly legal for any 15-, 16-, or even 17-year-old boy to do. Mr. Hansen has always taken a predilection of manipulating the deep-seated sexual insecurities of many Americans regarding teenage girls entering into cross-generational relationships. He never saved anybody's life in any of his online sex-sting operations, and there were no underage victims involved.
At the end of the day, American statutory-rape laws are a sham. Why do I say so? Well, why don't we assess all the facts here and see where it takes us?
Going back to 2008, a 13-year-old girl named Alisha Dean, who started her sexual shenanigans when she was 12 years old, fooled two men in their twenties (one named Morris Williams and the other one named Darwin Mills) into going to bed with her under the their misled belief that she was a 19-year-old divorcee. After they were caught, these two men had to serve time behind bars, even though Ms. Dean was the true sexual predator in this matter.
Then again, that's your great American statutory-rape laws for you. They allow underage predators like Ms. Dean to flourish, but then they ignore true victims like the late Aubreigh Wyatt.
In the case of the late Aubreigh Wyatt in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, when she was only 12 years old a couple of years ago, a boy forcibly, brutally, and violently raped her. Of course, because he was the same age as her, he got a get-out-of-jail-free card ultimately. Sure, there was an investigation, but the police never made any arrests; and after the late Ms. Aubreigh was dead by suicide, they decided that it was no longer important, which is outrageous.
American statutory-rape laws will put railroaded men like Morris Williams and Darwin Mills behind bars for making an honest mistake about a 13-year-old girl's age when that girl was actively seeking out older sex partners, whereas forcible rape laws pertaining to minors will coddle underage boys like the nameless one that raped the late Ms. Aubreigh and drove her to suicide.
Now, I realize that Ms. Watson is a millennial, and many millennials were born in the middle of all the mendacious pedophile-panic propaganda that indoctrinated them into believing that each and every teenage girl that got involved in a cross-generational relationship was somehow a victim of child molestation, when fact has it that many such cross-generational relationships have led to successful marriages and prosperous families. Unlike her, smart millennials do their research and engage in critical thinking.
I completely get it that at one time a Canadian psychiatrist named Dr. Raymond Blanchard was attempting to expand and broaden the definition of pedophilia in the medical books to include adults that were sexually attracted to teenagers, and the American Psychiatric Association ("A. P. A.") rejected his proposal in 2013 when they were getting ready to publish the DSM-5. I believe that one of the reasons for their decision was because it was becoming more common for underage boys to rape adult women and scream "statutory rape" afterwards to get themselves out of trouble.
The scary situation that Ms. Watson had with a boyfriend that was ten years her senior back when she was in her late teenage years could have just as easily happened if that young man had been only 19 or 20 years old when she first met him. I don't know why she claims that pedophiles are running the Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI"). I won't defend them, because I also believe that they are a highly corrupt agency. I call them the "Fascist Bastion of Intimidation" for their letters FBI. I won't watch any television dramas about them.
I guess that you could consider this one part of Ms. Watson's video above to constitute a moment of harmony between her and me. I cannot figure out why President Donald J. Trump has not shut down the FBI altogether after all the hateful things that they have done to him and his family. I'm not even going to guess what Ms. Watson means about Fox News having pedophiles on their payroll, because I haven't watched them in a long time.
I do not share Ms. Watson's high opinion of Perverted Justice, because they have been involved in scams in the past. I find it so hypocritical of our nation to accuse any adult man who seeks sexual relations with a teenage girl of being a sexual predator, because our nation doesn't seem to have any concerns about sexually promiscuous underage boys pressuring adolescent girls as young as 12 years old into having sexual intercourse with them and then turning into deadbeat teenage fathers after getting them pregnant. Where is all the hype about that?
Ms. Watson has a much sugarcoated perspective about teenage sexuality. If she were walking through a poorly lit parking lot at night and a bunch of 13-, 14-, and 15-year-old boys were catcalling her, she would be naive enough to offer them a ride despite that they had rape on their minds. She needs to direct her focus on topics other than ones about teenage sex and sexual predation. She doesn't seem to get all her facts straight.
Instead of reporting the facts as they should be in her video above, Rebecca Watson is promoting Pedophile-Panic Derangement Syndrome among the American people. Now the United States has developed a dangerously puritanical reputation throughout the world because of its nonsensical sex laws. Also, people are needlessly being charged with types of sexual offenses, so to speak, here in the United States that would not be considered to be crimes in other nations.
If you watch the video below, you will find that nations over in Europe don't even take American laws pertaining to online sex-sting operations all that too seriously. Steven Robert Whitsett conducts a chat panel of individuals that have fallen into similar circumstances as he has. That is, they also had a brush with the law for violating sex laws that don't even exist on the law books of most European nations. Some of them are still trying to expatriate from the United States to Europe inasmuch as they were caught in Chris-Hansen-style online sex-sting operations.
Steven Robert Whitsett Holds A Conversation About The Difference Between American Sex Laws And European Ones
What was very interesting about Mr. Whitsett's video above was that the Supreme Court of the United States is starting to take an interest in whether the American criminal justice system should be able to prosecute individuals that get caught in online sex-sting operations since there are really no underage victims involved in them. Hopefully, the Supreme Court justices will ultimately rule on this matter, and online sex-sting operations will be permanently banned in the United States.
It's about time our courts and elected officials do something reasonable here in the United States. We certainly don't need to be growing our already overly populated prison system.
I admire that Germany treats cross-generational teenage sexuality separately from the sexual molestation of actual prepubescent children under 11 years old in the way they have their laws written. American lawmakers could learn a thing or two from German legislators.
Join me in my mission. I'm your Spaceship Captain reporting to you.😃
