A few little things to share (Esp/Eng)

I’ve found it really curious and quite funny to hear people in my social circle – mainly in my own country – and the common theme is this: we all moan; we’re like a moaning machine; we moan about everything, and there’s no solution to the things we moan about because they’re simply beyond our reach or control. I’m such a moaning machine that I even moan about moaning; I don’t want to moan any more, I’m fed up with it, and hearing myself complain makes me laugh at myself, knowing I can’t do anything about it to sort it out: it’s not as if I were Superman…

I try to focus on the positive and lovely things that happen to me, because anyone here would go mad, and it’s no secret that many people’s mental health is at risk – I include myself in that group.

Hahaha! Do you remember that military chant, ‘war machine’? I think I’d change it to ‘complaint machine’ – it’s no laughing matter, but getting ill isn’t an option.

Complaining just attracts more things to complain about, so I reckon that’s enough of that; in the next few paragraphs I’ll talk about nicer things.

Let’s look at everything from a different perspective. When you complain, remember that Equipodelta calls you a ‘complaints machine’! Hahaha!

Sigamos caminando...

After the two major earthquakes, whilst I was able to leave the house, I’d never realised just how much my city had grown, with so many tall buildings, over 40 storeys high. It’s unbelievable! Buildings everywhere. After 20 years, I realised that my city’s population had doubled, even though many people had moved away and there was a time when it was quite deserted… Thank God that many of the buildings are still standing after the earthquakes.

I carried on with my walk and the sun was beating down, but I was giving thanks for having been able to take the time to get out of the house, out of my confinement, away from work, and away from the stress of the electricity supply, when someone interrupted my thoughts as I walked to complain: ‘The sun is too strong, it’s far too hot, I can’t stand it!’ I was sweating buckets, but in gratitude; I knew it would be sunny and hot when I set out. What can I do? Argue with the sun to make it stop shining so brightly? I can’t change the sun, but I can change my attitude. I could have brought my parasol, for example, but I couldn’t be bothered to carry anything in my hand, so I opted to wear light, cool clothes… I just smiled at the passer-by who was complaining and thought to myself: I’m grateful for this sunshine; I was able to go for a walk, which I couldn’t do before.

I think it’s the attitude we adopt towards everything that annoys us the most. From the moment you wake up, you have a long list of decisions to make, and they’re all your responsibility.

Let’s keep walking…

Contenedores / Organizadores...

Containers / Organisers... This is always satisfying: tidiness.

I popped out to collect my second parcel, which I absolutely loved – it’s rare to buy something online that exceeds your expectations. My key ring rings arrived and they were even better than I’d hoped. I remembered the other item I’d bought, which came in a flower-shaped organiser, and everything is so perfectly organised that it makes you want to get stuck in. I also remembered I had an old organiser that I used as a jewellery box, and as it wasn’t being used, I decided to put the key rings in there. How marvellous! These key rings came with extra rings, and I put them in my other ring organiser; the tidiness made me happy.

This got me thinking about the photos of my city and the buildings everywhere, crammed right up against one another with hardly any space between them: is my city perfectly organised or perfectly chaotic? Hahaha! I don’t know, but I’ll admit that in many places it looks beautiful, and it’s the most beautiful of all the places I’ve visited and lived in within my country.

You know me: complaints machine!

May you always be well.

Thank you for reading.

God bless you.

Greetings, friend! It’s great to read posts that motivate you to see things differently. I believe complaining doesn't solve anything, but neither does bottling everything up or fooling ourselves—it’s all about balance. I’m glad your request went well. Sending you blessings and lots of encouragement; everything will turn out fine and work itself out. We have to keep moving forward. !HUG
