Una mañana de diligencias || A morning of running errands ♥

El fin de semana recibí el mensaje de una cliente la cual tiene un instituto de inglés que es bastante reconocido actualmente en la ciudad. Era un mensaje en cadena sobre un censo que estarían haciendo para otorgar becas de cursos completos de ingles a estudiantes sobresalientes y deportistas.

Al ver eso me emocioné mucho porque pensé en mi hijo, que el año pasado obtuvo un promedio de 20 puntos. Pregunté si era posible que pudiera optar por la beca ya que hablaban de estudiantes residentes del municipio Cabimas y dónde nosotros vivimos ya pertenece a otro municipio al igual que la institución dónde hace vida.

Me respondieron que si, por lo que nos organizamos para asistir a dicha jornada con la fé puesta de que era posible que obtuviera esa beca.

Las clases en su liceo ya comenzaron desde la semana pasada pero como no habíamos podido comprar el uniforme no había asistido. Hoy tocaba que nuevamente faltara por el tema de la beca, porque el censo era presencial, pero aprovecharíamos el viaje para solucionar el tema con el uniforme.

On the weekend I received a message from a client who has an English institute that is currently quite recognized in the city. It was a chain message about a census they were doing to award scholarships for full English courses to outstanding students and athletes.

When I saw that I was very excited because I thought about my son, who last year had an average of 20 points. I asked if it was possible that I could apply for the scholarship since they were talking about students residing in the Cabimas municipality and where we live already belongs to another municipality as does the institution where we live.

They answered yes, so we organized ourselves to attend said event with the faith that it was possible for me to obtain that scholarship.

Classes at his high school had already started last week but since we had not been able to buy the uniform he had not attended. Today it was time for me to be absent again due to the issue of the scholarship, because the census was in person, but we would take advantage of the trip to resolve the issue with the uniform.

Salimos de casa a las 7 am, porque aunque la cita era a las 9 am, nosotros vivimos retirados del sitio y queríamos estar antes pues no sabíamos que tantas personas asistirían.

Nos demoramos un poco para poder conseguir transporte, pero logramos que por fin un carro se detuviera y nos llevara a nuestro destino.

We left the house at 7 a.m. because, although the appointment was for 9 a.m., we lived quite far from the location and wanted to arrive early, as we didn't know how many people would be attending.

It took us a while to find transportation, but we finally managed to get a car to stop and take us to our destination.

Llegamos y solo habían 4 personas esperando, así que nos calmamos porque a pesar de que nos demoramos en llegar, no quedamos tan lejos en la fila.

Estuvimos esperando un buen rato y nada que abrían las puertas. Hasta que por fin pasadas las 9 am apareció la señora que nos abriría la puerta a todos.

Mantuvimos un orden que al final no importo porque nos hicieron pasar a todos juntos y nos entregaron una planilla para llenar. En cuestión de minutos ya habíamos terminado. La verdad esperábamos que le hicieran una entrevista, pero según nos informaron eso vendría después.

Así que agradecimos por la oportunidad y de ahí nos fuimos hasta el siguiente destino.

We arrived to find only four people waiting, so we relaxed; even though we’d been delayed getting there, we weren't too far back in line.

We waited quite a while, but the doors still hadn't opened. Finally, sometime after 9:00 a.m., the woman who was to let us all in appeared.

We had maintained an orderly line, but in the end, it didn't matter; they ushered us all in together and handed us a form to fill out. We finished in a matter of minutes. Honestly, we had expected an interview, but we were told that would come later.

So, we expressed our gratitude for the opportunity and headed off to our next destination.

Fuimos hasta la universidad del Zulia porque desde hace un tiempo, he querido reincorporarme a mi carrera, la cual abandoné cuando salí embarazada de mi hijo hace casi 15 años.

En aquel entonces me costaba mucho el tema de movilizarme, tenía otra mente y me dediqué de lleno a mi hijo. Pasados los años he querido concluir eso que ya empecé y bueno creo que este es un buen momento para hacerlo.

Pregunté cómo era todo para poder reincorporarse y luego de obtener la información salimos rumbo a la siguiente parada. Ya luego les contaré un poco más a detalle sobre este proceso.

We went to the University of Zulia because, for some time now, I’ve wanted to resume my studies—which I had dropped out of when I became pregnant with my son nearly 15 years ago.

Back then, getting around was a real struggle for me; my mindset was different, and I devoted myself entirely to my son. As the years have gone by, I’ve wanted to finish what I started, and well, I think this is a good time to do it.

I asked about the process for re-enrolling, and after getting the information, we headed to our next stop. I’ll share a few more details about this process with you later on.

Como les comenté al principio, mi hijo no tenia uniforme para el liceo, así que organizando algunas cositas saqué parte del dinero necesario para cubrir este gasto. Lo saqué a crédito porque no me era posible cancelar todo de golpe y así compramos todo lo necesario para su inicio de clases mañana.

Fue una mañana bastante movida y al mismo tiempo bien entretenida en compañía de mi hijo. Gracias amigos por acompañarme 💜

As I mentioned earlier, my son didn't have a school uniform, so by sorting a few things out, I managed to get the money needed to cover the cost. I bought it on credit since I couldn't pay the full amount upfront, and that way, we got everything necessary for him to start classes tomorrow.
