Sometimes the best moments on a trek are the ones that you never planned for.
The plan was simple and exciting: Gosainkunda, Nepal
This is my entry to My Life Shorts Contest #17 under #mostmemorable tag
After hiking for 1 day, we reached the holy lake of Nepal Gosainkunda. Curioisity pulled us more further. We again decided to walk for 1.5 hours uphill higher into the cold and quiet landscape. Suddenly, it was there.
Suryakunda. Completely frozen. For a moment, I simply stood there and stared.
Lake looked less like water and more like a sheet of glass placed between the mountains. The silence was almost unreal. Every step closer to the lake made my moment feel more special. I forgot the tiredness and just felt grateful to be there.
I am also including a short video from the trip - few seconds of the trail, the mountains and the unforgettable frozen lake.
So, we started our trek and reached Gosainkunda, but somehow, the frozen Suryakunda became the most memorable part of the journey.
