Last time we found out that our enemies are quite divided and hate each other. After that we went to look for the Font of Life with Anca. After a while we found a ruined temple. Inside of it we faced various trials. In one of them we could only pass the door once Coen was half naked and covered in magical symbols. Next time he had to put his hand inside some statue. And it damaged that hand really heavily. Also Anca told us that hopes to use the Font of life as well and lose her ability to use magic. Finally we found the Font. It had a tiny drop of blood in it so it was only enough for one person. We let Anca use the Font and it seemed to have worked- Anca is no longer a witch. After that we returned the abandonned inn and had some fun time with Anca. It is also possible that she just manipulated us but both sides got what they wanted in the end so I guess that is fair game.
This time we went to see our father's fiend Volk one more time. And this time turned out to be our final meeting. Volk betrayed Coen to Brencis soldiers. He claimed that he did this for money. But part of me thinks that old blind man just got tired of his miserable existence. And so he was hoping that Coen will do him one final favor and end his life in battle. I was not even that mad about his betrayal- He was mercenary till the very end. But I still regret doing all his chores and spending so much precious time on some old fool. Still I decided to grant Volk his wish to die in battle.At least after killing Volk Coen got a great new sword. So our ,,friendship'' was not completely in vain.
After that Coen went to do another side quest. And found a letter from vampire general Ambrus who challenged us to a duel till death. It seems that we REALLY pissed him off at this point. Also a servant invited us to meet with one of Ambrus vassals. This vassal wanted to use our duel with a vampire general to poison and kill him. I declined this offer because I wanted to beat Ambrus with our swordsmanship in fair fight.
Then we went to face Ambrus. Like I expected this vampire did not come to duel location alone. He brought a squad of soldiers to act as his cheerleaders. But to my surprise the duel was actually fair and the soldiers did not get involved. Before the fight we had a short conversation with vampire general. We mocked him so much that he was really rushing into the fight. Ambrus believed himself to the best swordsman but I guess he was not good enough- we beat him at first try.
After we slew Ambrus both he and Coen were transported into some area that looked like hell. Before the fight Ambrus was confident and full of himself. But now all that bravado and confidence faded in an instant. This place revealed that beneath that mask Ambrus was horribly scared. He was basically crying about that this place will consume him and begging Coen to invite part of his soul to return with him to the world of the living. I had no mercy for this creature. But he seemed pitiful that I decided to take his soul with back. Perhaps after traveling with the one who defeated him, Abrus will suffer even more than in that hell?
Then Coen became famous enough we went to see the rebels again. They voted if Coen should be allowed to join them. Most votes were in our favor. But Drogos still doesn't trust Coen. Regardless we got accepted either way. After that rebel leader Crake invited us to another room. There we saw that rebels were torturing one of their own. His name was Layos. Crake suspected that Layos and a few other of his men btrayed the rebels. So now he was ,,questioned'' about that. Crake asked Coen to investigate this matter and find out if few other rebels are dead or a traitors as well. Crake said he could not lose anymore men but was willing to risk losing us because we are partly vampire.
After that we went outside. Some smuggler gave us a strange letter. Then Coen went to an inn and wass attacked by a female horned creature(who was called Ocha). We won the boxing match. After that Ocha friend Nara came and calmed Ocha down. Then we all went to Nara's room. Nara and Ocha said that they have problems with local criminal Andrei who was basically ruling part of the city. Ocha wanted us to steal some important momento of Andrei so she could cast magic on him and brainwash him into not bothering them anymore. But I had a better plan. Coen went to meet Andrei in his house. And just slaughtered the criminal and all his thugs. Then Coen spoke with Ocha again and she admitted that she and Nara just wanted to take over Andrei's criminal operations. And now when we destroyed everything there is nothing left to take over. Ocha alaso shared her dillema- to go back to her clan and lead it or to travel the world. She picked the second choice.
