Hello, dear fellow artists; I hope you are all doing well. I am very grateful to be able to share something with this wonderful community once again. This time, however, the content is tinged with sadness, as the legendary actor Tim Curry—who brought the evil Pennywise to life in the 90s miniseries—has passed away. I remember his performance vividly; it gave me terrible nightmares. I also recall his role in Home Alone, where he delivered a brilliant comedic performance. This versatile actor, known for his penchant for the eccentric, has passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind an indelible mark. I have created this tribute in the form of a drawing—naturally, it had to be of his terrifying character, Pennywise. I hope you enjoy it.
Hola queridos amigos artistas, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien. Estoy muy agradecido de poder volver a compartir algo con esta hermosa comunidad. En esta oportunidad con un contenido envuelto en la tristeza, y es que ha fallecido el señor Tim Curry, actor legendario quien dio vida al malvado Pennywise en la miniserie de los años 90. Recuerdo perfectamente su actuación, la cual provocó en mis terribles pesadillas. Así también su participación en Solo en casa, conde hizo un papel cómico genial. Este actor versátil y con tendencias hacia lo raro, falleció a los 80 años, creando que dejó una huella imborrable. Realizó este homenaje a través de un dibujo, no podría ser otro que su aterrador personaje de Pennywise, espero que les guste.

For this drawing, I didn't intend to make it realistic; instead, I aimed for a somewhat comic-book style so I could use a black pen for the most part. I used a store receipt for the background to give it a more modern—and, as I mentioned, comic-book—look. To start, I simply created a pencil sketch, being careful not to damage the paper, which is very delicate.
Para este dibujo mi intención no era hacerlo tan realista sino un tanto estilo cómic para así utilizar bolígrafo de color negro en su mayoría. Como papel para el fondo utilicé un recibo de compra, así el estilo sería más moderno y como mencioné antes, estilo cómic. Parta comenzar solo hice un boceto con lápiz con cuidado para no estropear el papel, el cual es muy sensible.

After sketching Pennywise in pencil, I begin to outline the drawing using a pen with very light ink—unlike other pens that have darker ink. I use this pen to define the contours; as you can see, it isn't an extraordinary technique—it is simply a matter of laying down lines until the drawing takes shape, and then adding volume in whatever way works best.
Luego de haber ealizado el boceto de Pennywise con simplemente lápiz, comienzo a deliner esas líneas con un bolígrafo de tinta muy clara, a diferencia de otros bolígrafos donde la tinta es mas oscura. Así que con este bolígrafo se iría delimitando el dibujo, como pueden ver no se trata de una técnica extraordinaria, por el contrario se trata de ir poniendo las líenas hasta que el dibujo obtenga la forma y luego darle volumen de la forma que sea.

The next step is to add volume; since the art style is known as "Scribble," this involves using the pen to create seemingly random, overlapping lines and small circles. This drawing won't be in black and white; instead, the necessary colors will be added as the work progresses. For instance, on the lower part of the red hair, I apply black ink using the pen, creating small circles and overlapping lines. After that, I take an alcohol-based marker to add color to the hair and to the lips, which are drawn in a macabre smile.
Ahora es el paso siguiente para agregar volumen, como el estilo de arte se llama Scribble así que solo sobran rayas accidentales con el bolígrafo. Este dibujo no será en blanco y negro sino que a medida que avance se irá agregando el color necesario. Por ejemplo, en la parte inferior del cabello el cual es rojo, agrega tinta de color negro con el bolígrafo, haciendo pequeños círculos y líneas superpuestas unas sobre la otra. Después de eso, tomo un marcador con tinta a base de alcohol y comienzo agrega ese color en el cabello y también a darle color a los labios los cuales dibujaron una macabra sonrisa.

Next, I gently add pink marker to create shadows on the facial features. This is how I build volume and contrast in the drawing, especially against the red hair. I also draw the terrifying, green, reptilian-looking fingers. Finally, I add the green color to those diabolical eyes that are hunting down the town's children, and with that, the drawing is complete.
Luego voy agregando marcador rosa, muy suave para hacer sombras en las expresiones del rostro. De esta forma es como voy agregando volumen y contrastal dibujo, especialmente con el color rojo del cabello. Así también dibujo sus aterradores dedos los cuales tiene una apriencia reptiloide de color verde. Para finalizar agrego el color verde de esos ojos diabólicos que van detrás de los chicos del pueblo, de esta manera ha quedado finalizado.

What did you think of the result? Thinking back to the 90s miniseries, I recall one of the scenes that scared me the most in my life: when Pennywise emerges from the bathroom drain and appears before the boy who was taking a shower. It was a striking moment that filled me with sheer terror at the time. Tim Curry undoubtedly delivered a great performance—one that will be remembered for a long time. I hope you enjoyed the drawing; if you, like me, saw this clown during your childhood, I know it brought back vivid memories. That’s all for now—see you soon.
¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado? recordando la miniserie de los 90, recuerdo una de las escenas que más me asustó en la vida. Es cuando Pennywise emerge en el baño por el desague y aparece ante el chico que estaba tomando la ducha, fue un momento impresionante que en su momento me lleno de mucho terror. Sin duda el señor Tim Curry hizo una gran actuación la cual será recordada por mucho tiempo. Espero que el dibujo haya sido de su agrado, si al igual que yo en tu niñez viste a este payaso se que te trajo grandes recuerdos. Por ahora me despido y será hasta pronto..
