That was a rather long day yesterday. Started out getting up at 5am (3am PDT) to be at the Minot Airport by 6:30 am. The twilight was pretty cool looking.
Boarded the first flight to MSP at 7:30 for the 1 hour flight.
Quick flight with a bit of abrupt wheels down on landing.
We then had a 3hr layover in MSP where we went to get breakfast after making our way to our gate area.
The flight back to Spokane was a 3 hour flight of which I spent much of it catching up on some shows I had downloaded over the week. J and I also spent a good bit of the flight staring out the window.
As we came in towards Spokane we got below the cloud level and then flew right over the Fairview fire scar and could see the Old Trails fire scar rather well.
We were home by 2pm where I had to get into the greenhouse since the plants needed to be harvested badly.
HOLY CUCUMBER BATMAN! Some serious mondo cucs and this was just the first basket of them.
The second basket had some big ones as well but a lot more regular sized ones.
I totally filled the tub with tomatoes that were not split and all close to ripe.
The split ones went to the basket to get tossed.
I stopped at the board for a bit mid afternoon and on my 4th throw sunk in a really nice 180.
The next throw was damned close to another.
I had moved my bike out of the house and when I did I realized the rear tire was flat... Seriously WTF!? So I popped the tire off the rim and found this single piece of wire brush wire that had punctured the tube. SUPER annoying. New tube in and metal removed it is ready for miles.
Trimmed back the bushes and trees along the deck as they were pushing volunteers from the base en mass.
I also remembered that there had been blackberries on the bush by the creek before we left and when I got to it realized that it had ripened a bunch more! These are the first blackberries we have gotten from the plant which I transplanted from the west side of the state many years ago. It took its sweet time getting big enough and getting acclimated to the region.
We now have blackberries, raspberries, thimble berries, and choke cherries all growing along the creek.
Today is back to the grind. Have to setup work for the week, the farm needs attention, I have a job this afternoon in Deer Park, and the boys start school on Wednesday so need to get their stuff all ready.
