Últimamente no me he sentido bien.

@andreaag21

Visits are healing, and 11 years of friendship—even across a distance—can come to an end; yet a hug at just the right moment saves the day, because yes, there are hugs that don’t just greet you, but put the pieces back together.

Andrea and I have been friends for almost 11 years. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in over a decade, it’s that distance and routine are unforgiving: between our individual commitments, daily responsibilities, and exhaustion, sometimes days or weeks go by when we drift apart a little without meaning to. Not because our affection changes, but because life moves so fast. However, if time has taught me anything, it’s that true friendship isn’t measured by the number of messages, but by the certainty of knowing who you can count on when the world gets too much.

Lately, I haven’t been feeling well. There are days when my spirits flag and the daily grind feels more overwhelming than usual. Andrea knew it—or sensed it, as only good friends can—and decided to pay me a surprise visit. It was one of those afternoons that save you. She jumped right into my roughest moment: she helped me do laundry, tidy up the house, and bring a little order to the mess I was in—especially since I already had a water leak at home. We ate together, chatted about everything and nothing, laughed until our stomachs hurt, and, of course, took a thousand photos.

These may seem like simple gestures, but to me, they meant everything. Having someone willing to be there for you—not just during the good times, but to fold clothes with you while you vent—is a beautiful privilege. Since that afternoon, I have to admit that my days have taken on a different hue. Not just because the house is tidier or because we took some nice photos, but because the energy started flowing again. Our communication has also improved tremendously since then, reminding us that our bond remains intact, no matter how long we go without seeing each other.

Sometimes we just need someone to knock on the door, walk into our mess without judgment, and remind us that we’re not alone. Thank you, Andrea, for showing up just when I needed you most. @andreaag21
