Meaning

ytdg.jpg

Over the last few weeks a few friends of mine have been working through some thoughts based around a book by Viktor E Frankl called, Man's search for meaning.

The people I'm talking about have had to do difficult things in life and, as often is the case with such people, remnants remain, scars and other things, and we have found some interesting thoughts - and found out some things about ourselves - based around the book and thoughts and experiences of its author.

I thought I'd share a few quotes from the fellow, Viktor E Frankl, in a post or two.

"There is nothing in the world, I venture to say, that would so effectively help one to survive even the worst conditions as the knowledge that there is a meaning in one's life." - Viktor E. Frankl

Feel free to comment with your thoughts or feelings about the quote above if you're so inclined.

That's a good one. I think we all kind of home on some level we are here to accomplish something or that our life had made a difference to at least one person.

And the meaning doesn't have to be something grand. For many it is simply family, a faith, a responsibility, or that a person needs you. Or a combination of all those.

  • I see you flowers photo and call it with a flower photo of my own.

I agree that life without meaning(either real or self imagined) would be way harder than it is now. Like I said in the past I am far from religious and I don't want any form of eternal life. But I still amazed that religious people find meaning in their stories. It is weird. at times even scary. But also interesting that different people can see meaning in completely different areas of life.
