Seventies Sunday Music Bonus! The beginning of Synth! 1977 & 1979 tunes!
We stopped doing our daily jam posts but we were rocking some tunes and decided to bring ya a bonus Sunday post! Enjoy!

Gene - I’m a big fan of Gary Numan but I’m letting Ashlee take em and I’m going with the band Ultravox & two songs off there first album 1977’s Self Titled record Ultravox!. A band I don’t know well but always heard they were oamong first to mix synth electronic sounds into early post punk or so called New Wave alternative rock. After listening to the record through once I picked the songs Slipped Away & Dangerous Rhythm from the 1977 record.

Ashlee - I picked 1979’s The Pleasure Principle album from Gary Numan. Picking the songs Cars & Metal.

    Brilliant choices and of course Ultravox most know for Vienna and later Dancing with Tears in my Eyes. This was when Scottish Midge Ure came into the band after John Foxx had left. A different style but I like both sounds

    Nice selections from a cool time in music innovation! Gary Numan had the right voice for this new genre, and Cars is such a classic. I know Ultravox but don't recall these 2 tunes.

    I'm thinking of The Monkees tune Daily Nightly. That link points to Wikipedia which says

    The record was arguably the very first rock recording to feature the Moog synthesizer

    So here's that tune for those who might be interested.
