🎸Three Tune Tuesday For September 22nd! Producer Spotlight with Tunes Produced by Steve Albini! Nirvana! Bush! Cheap Trick! Pixies! & Bonus Tune! 💿
Happy Three Tune Tuesday friends! This week I’ll be continuing my September theme of picking a different record producer each week and picking all my picks from bands/albums they produced. We did Butch Vig week 1, Rick Rubin last week & the week in between I had forgot and just did a different topic 🤣.
This week it’s Steve Albini! He mostly worked with independent bands and had a very unique sound and style. He only produced two albums that sold more well into the millions but he also produced many independent albums that went on to be cut classics and very influential to huge bands.
I actually covered some of his lesser known stuff on nineties Friday last week. Check link at bottom of post if you want more! But this week it’s Nirvana! Bush! & The Pixies! Two well known artists and a thief who was a huge influence on the first two. For bonus tune I go with a band that did find mainstream success in 2002 but I go to there lesser known 1999 record debut that was produced by Steve. Ok enjoy!!! All info will be below each song.
Ok so as I’m looking up my songs and doing an info dive on Steve & what he’s produced, I discovered he produced a Cheap Trick record in 2006. That’s def gotta be on here! Since most of you know cheap trick I’m sure, really get a feel for how different the production is with Steve here. Now you get two bonus tunes today for five tunes total! Enjoy!

You guys might remember the band Chevelle from these two hits below ⬇️ I personally prefer the production on the album Steve produced above, even though the label probably spent 50X as much on the one from 2002 this songs from.
