[Music] The last Piece About Him

The first time I got to listen to this song, I was still heartbroken from my first love.

Sadie promises that this is the last song she will write about the one she loved; that she needs to move on, and she thinks he does too. She remembers how her lover was all that she wanted, and still is. Cause I've been alright, yeah, but you showed me better.

Before my ex started acting differently, he was really all that I wanted. I thought I was alright, but he showed me better by always listening, always caring for me, and making sure I was okay in the best possible way.

I used to be a person who hated saying how I felt, because I felt being vulnerable was not necessary. He would always urge me to talk to him, promising it would make me feel better, and it sure did. He accepted my goofiness, my troubles, and everything about me.

Another part of the song that got me was when she sang about saying "forever" too soon. I also felt we fell out so easily because we were not friends enough to become lovers; maybe this is not entirely the reason, but I used it to make myself feel better

Back then, I could also relate to the part where she asks if, in ten years, she is still on his mind, will he call and say he loves her. No matter where he is, he still has her heart, because she locked it and he is the locksmith. I related because I still had him on my mind, and I hoped he would call and say he loved me; he was truly my own locksmith.

No matter how far apart we were, I kept hoping that one day things would go back to normal; I felt I could not love another person as much as I loved him, and even as things fell apart, he genuinely still had my heart.

I didn't entirely think of ten years, but I really hoped it would be soon. The song made me feel less alone, and it made me feel okay to want someone I really loved to return within a certain time frame. Although I realised the feeling was not mutual and started withdrawing my hopes, the words gave me a certain kind of peace.

I want to believe that even though we fell apart, the little moments we spent were not entirely a lie, and that he also loved me, maybe in those short moments.

Sadie says this is the last song she will write about her lover, and I hope this is the last piece I write about him, as I have finally found peace in knowing that not everything lasts forever, and that it is okay.
