Greetings, dear fellow travelers of the @worldmappin community. I wish you all the best today, and may there be much peace and harmony in your homes.
On this occasion, I’d like to show you, through these photos, the fresh new look that Bolívar Square in the city of Barquisimeto now has.
A few days ago, I was walking through downtown, and it caught my attention when I passed by Bolívar Square and saw how much it had changed. The walkways were very clean, the grass was freshly mowed, the railings were freshly painted, there were new trash cans, and many colorful flowering shrubs in well-maintained gardens adorned the areas where people walk.
It’s so beautiful and well-kept that people who work in the area—city hall employees and various passersby—gather on its benches to enjoy their lunches, have a good conversation, or simply take a break between the morning and afternoon shifts.
I’ve always enjoyed walking around the area and admiring the buildings that surround it. There, we can see the David Tower, the Immaculate Conception Church, the National Building, the Eustoquio Gómez House with its beautiful turquoise facade, and the Iribarren municipal government building.
All of these buildings have been renovated and form a beautiful ensemble with their brightly colored colonial facades, which invite passersby to stop and admire the pleasant scene they create.
Something that has already become a tradition among the people of Guaro is that those walking through the city center head to the plaza to sit in the shade of the trees, recharge their energy, and then continue on to the stores or shops to do their shopping.
This square is, and always will be, along with the obelisk, the pride of Venezuela, and El Cardenalito Park is an icon of the city; as such, it stands before the world as a silent witness to the passing of the years and the cultural development of the people of Lara.
Until next time, I bid you farewell, hoping that you enjoyed this post.
Many blessings to all.
