Following the Mural Festival, the restaurant O'Noir in Montreal continued its OnoArt program, which allows artists to paint the boarded-up windows of this restaurant where you eat in complete darkness. It was Rouks's turn to leave his mark there, and what a mark it was!

At the corner of Prince Arthur and De Bullion streets in Montreal, on the wall of the restaurant O'Noir, which serves its menu in total darkness, hence the windows boarded up with wooden planks. A great initiative, especially since Prince Arthur Street needs some love since COVID.

Rouks and Co...
Rouks is an artist and tattoo artist based in Montreal whose realistic portraits can often be seen, especially at the Legal Wall in Rouen. There, he was invited by OnoArt to create this magnificent face, perhaps Medusa, given the snake 🤔. And looking at the photo, I just realized that the work wasn’t finished when I was there, part of the snake’s body still needs to be completed.

Starting this year, the restaurant has hung additional frames along the wall to create a sort of open-air art gallery. The blue painting at the top is by Merya, an artist of Algerian origin based in Montreal who painted Khamsa (the Hand of Fatima), a “symbol of protection in North Africa and the Middle East” (source: her Instagram).
On the left is the first mural by Caroline Pinsonnault, an artist and illustrator from Montreal. And finally, on the left, is Veronica Escobar, a tattoo artist who is also based in Montreal. This initiative is really cool and interesting, with all this #StreetArt on display in the street just like in a museum. What do you think?
