Cycling #ChitChat – Week 28 / Time off… & The Latest Topics

Greetings, tireless cyclists, it has been a true delight to be here for 28 weeks, trying to bring you a spark of encouragement. Or perhaps better said, contributing, for a cyclist is always spirited. It takes immense energy and resolve to ride out, often against unfriendly skies and challenges unseen… yet, with the kind permission of our administrator @friendlymoose, I am stepping back for a while. We’ve already touched upon the difficulties I’m facing in tending to the community as it deserves. It saddens me, but there are forces beyond our reach, and rather than falter, we must choose wisely.

For a fleeting moment I found myself virtually on that bench, gazing at the horizon and shaping these words in thought. My gratitude goes to the author of today’s cover. It isn’t much, yet in every post I ensured a portion of the rewards went to the writers whose images I used. I would have loved to give more here, truly.

Once I publish this post, I’ll be dropping a personalised message to the authors who shared their adventures on wheels this week. My thanks to all of you — keep spreading your inspiring experiences. We can’t always measure the reach, but it’s certain that many here are delighted and motivated by them. Perhaps even new cyclists will be born, simply by watching you bring joy and reveal the landscapes you conquer with your bicycles.

Before I share the results of the athletes using Strava2Hive, I must thank @friendlymoose deeply for the confidence. And I’d be delighted if @preciouz-01 could tell us more about that five‑minute ride where he reached such a remarkable speed… revealed below. A spectacular sprint, my friend!

These are the stats recorded between Monday 6 July and Sunday 12.

Climbing uphill… What goes through your mind when another cyclist overtakes you without even saying hello? Do you take it with humour, with sporting rivalry, or as a challenge to push harder?

Dear @nanixxx There is no reason for asking for permission to stop doing the weekly updates. I know your situation and also know from my own experience how hard it is try to make and keep a community active. I think it's not only the Cycling Community that has this issue, but that it is a broader issue. A low number of active Hivers results in less active communities.

I really appreciate the effort that you have put into this community and hope that you will still keep doing and publishing your cycling adventures here.

    Thanks you ❤️
