Today I’m sharing a brief review of this series, which I just finished watching. It has a plot that’s a bit out of the ordinary, but it still caught my attention: suspense, action, kidnapping, and drama. It consists of 10 episodes and is titled The Girl from Oslo (Bortført).

This is a Norwegian-Israeli series about the kidnapping of a girl in the Middle East, along with her friends. Her mother is a Norwegian diplomat who will travel there to find her daughter, using her influence through old friends and a secret that may or may not work in her favor.
Pia is a young teenager who ventures off to Israel without telling her parents, but she didn’t expect to be kidnapped. It’s a truly agonizing moment for anyone in her shoes; the fear of the unknown, not knowing what’s happening, and wondering why you were singled out for this ordeal—that’s what intrigues and terrifies her most. However, her mother, Alex, was willing to do anything to find her, without considering the consequences of her actions, making one mistake after another, and endangering not only her daughter’s life but also the lives of the other young people who were with her.
Esta es una serie noruego-israelí que trata sobre el secuestro de una chica en el Oriente Medio, junto con sus amigos. As they say, a mother is capable of doing anything for her children—things they would never imagine she’d dare to do—but as long as it saves them, she doesn’t care. In this case, as I said, she didn’t weigh the consequences; she rushed to act without waiting for the others, and in this she was partly right. When it comes to diplomatic actions, everything is a process, a protocol; you have to carefully analyze which decisions to make so as not to harm your country’s relations with other nations.
The series has a good plot—you can’t deny that—it hooks you with the synopsis and gets you excited in the first few episodes; however, the script was very weak. I feel like they could have done better.
Como dicen, una madre es capaz de hacer lo que sea por sus hijos, cosas que nunca imaginaban que se atreverían a hacer, pero que con tal de salvarlos, no les importa. En este caso, como dije, no midió las consecuencias; se apresuraba a actuar, sin esperar por los demás, y en esto tenía razón en parte. Cuando se trata de acciones diplomáticas, todo es un proceso, un protocolo; debe analizar bien qué decisiones tomar, que no los perjudique, con respecto a las relaciones con los otros países.
La serie tiene una buena trama, no se le puede negar, te atrapa con la sinopsis, y en los primeros capítulos te emociona; sin embargo, el guion estuvo muy flojo. Siento que pudieron hacerlo mejor.
It's an entertaining series, consisting of 10 short, concise episodes that don't drag on, set in a cohesive setting in the middle of the desert. If you like this kind of story, this series might be for you.
