It is an excellent question—a story that makes you question the existence of the afterlife and wonder what these spirits are truly seeking or desiring.
Belonging to the psychological horror genre, the film stands as a solid, somber work featuring strong performances—starting with Bruce Willis as the enigmatic psychologist. Although few of his roles usually leave a lasting impression on me, there is no denying that this film has cemented its status as a classic, with lines that left an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
La película nos muestra cosas que los adultos no vemos, escenas que te hacen pensar, un niño asustado por la presencia de algo desconocido para él, y este doctor sólo piensa que puede sanarlo, pero ambos necesitan esa sanación, sin saber el porque de las cosas que les suceden., y utilizando un enfoque terapéutico basado en la simulación, Crowe le pregunta a Cole: "¿Qué crees que intentan decirte los muertos?". Esta es una pregunta excelente, una historia que te hace dudar de la existencia del más allá, y pensar que buscan o quiere realmente estos espíritus.
Es una película de un género diferente, de terror psicológico, y resultando ser una obra sombría y sólida,contando con buenas actuaciones, empezando por Bruce Williams en el papel de este enigmático psicólogo, son muy pocas las actuaciones de este actor que suelo recordar con gran interés, pero no se puede negar que está es una de esas películas que quedaron en nuestra memoria cómo un gran clásico, con frases que marcaron un pasado en el mundo del cine.
Imagine living with a heavy burden on your body and mind—surrounded by an inexplicable force and constant fear, with nowhere to turn because no one would believe you—only to suddenly meet someone who helps you carry or manage that weight, somehow, with patience and calm.
That is the kind of story we see in this film—a modern classic. I hope you watch it, if you haven't already.
It is a great movie to enjoy during the month of Halloween.
Te imaginas vivir con gran peso en tu cuerpo y mente, rodeado de una fuerza inexplicable, un miedo constante y sin saber a quien acudir porque nadie te creerá, pero de repente conoces a alguien que te ayuda a cargar o manejar ese peso, de alguna manera, con una paciencia y calma.
Algo así veremos en éste film, un clásico moderno, espero lo vean, si no lo han hecho.
Una buena película para disfrutar en este mes de Halloween.
