Aguacate Amigurumi

Greetings, dear community! Today I’m sharing an amigurumi of one of my family’s favorite fruits—and I bet it’s a favorite for many of you, too: the avocado! Although it might seem simple, it took me several tries to get it just the way I wanted, so today I’ll show you the process I went through to achieve it. ☺️

Proceso / Process

I started with the seed; using thick acrylic yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook, I worked 6 single crochet stitches into a magic ring, followed by 6 increases, and then two rounds of 12 single crochet stitches—working the final round with a yellow edge. Next, working only into the front loops, I crocheted a round with 6 increases; halfway through this round, I chained 3 and worked back along those chains with 3 slip stitches. I then crocheted a round of single crochet stitches, adding increases over the 6 central stitches, followed by a round with 8 increases, and finally a round of 38 single crochet stitches with a green edge.

For the back of the avocado, I worked 6 single crochet stitches into a ring, followed by 6 increases; I didn’t work any straight rows, but instead continued with the same sequence of increases used for the front, and only then did I work 38 single crochet stitches for 4 rows.
