Saludos querida comunidad, amo mi trabajo y cada vez que un nuevo reto llega como encargo mi corazón salta de la emoción, por supuesto que también me da mucha ansiedad por cumplir con las expectativas del cliente y no traicionar su confianza al haberme encomendado un amigurumi, pero al final los resultados siempre son buenos y me llenan de mucha satisfacción.

Les cuento que hace unas semanas atrás me escribió una persona por Instagram y me hizo un encargo, quería un amigurmi en particular, es decir, ella envió la foto y dijo que lo quería igual, el personaje es Brutus, el político y militar romano conocido por liderar la conspiración contra Julio César, la imagen de referencia que me envió era un amigurumi que hecho por Ildikko Crochet, así que que hacerlo a ojo para que quedara lo mas parecido posible como me lo pidieron ☺️

Greetings, dear community! I love my work, and every time a new challenge comes my way, my heart leaps with excitement. Of course, I also feel a lot of anxiety about meeting the client’s expectations and not betraying their trust in me for an amigurumi. But in the end, the results are always good and fill me with great satisfaction.

I wanted to share that a few weeks ago, someone contacted me through Instagram with a commission. They wanted a specific amigurumi; they sent a photo and said they wanted it exactly the same. The character is Brutus, the Roman politician and military leader known for leading the conspiracy against Julius Caesar. The reference image they sent was an amigurumi made by Ildikko Crochet, so I had to make it freehand to make it as similar as possible to what they requested. ☺️

Proceso / Process

Una vez recibí el encargo me gustó mucho la idea, pues no todo el tiempo tengo la oportunidad de hacer amigurumis articulados con dedos tanto en manos y pies, comencé por los pies haciendo uno a uno los dedos y uniéndolos para hacer el empeine y después el talón. Levante los puntos para las piernas, hice aumentos y disminuciones para las rodillas, hice ambas piernas y introdujeron el alambre por dentro y las uní para continuar el cuerpo, hice aparte la falda para unirla a la cintura y continuar con el torso.

Once I received the order, I really liked the idea, since I don’t always have the opportunity to make articulated amigurumi with fingers on both hands and feet. I started with the feet, making each toe individually and joining them to create the instep and then the heel. I picked up stitches for the legs, made increases and decreases for the knees, made both legs, inserted the wire inside, and joined them to continue the body. I made the skirt separately to attach it to the waist and continue with the torso.

La imagen original tenia solo 4 dedos pero yo les hice los 5, los dedos índice y anular los hice de igual longitud, el medio un poco mas grande y el meñique mas pequeño, el pulgar lo hice igual de largo que el meñique pero lo uní unas hileras después para que quedara mas arriba, a cada dedo le introduje alambre por dentro para que se pudieran doblar .

The original image only had 4 fingers but I made them 5, the index and ring fingers I made the same length, the middle one a little bigger and the pinky smaller, the thumb I made the same length as the pinky but I joined it a few rows later so that it would be higher, I put wire inside each finger so that they could bend.

La cabeza fue muy divertida de hacer porque tenía un mentón bastante prominente, la apariencia de la cara con los ojos y la nariz me recordaba a las marionetas de programas como Plaza Sésamo, ese estilo de cara de marioneta me parece muy lindo y traté de hacerlo lo mas acertado posible, para el cabello hice una base marrón y luego introduje cada cabello y lo anudé, después hice el corte de cabello para emparejar las puntas.

The head was a lot of fun to make because it had quite a prominent chin. The appearance of the face with the eyes and nose reminded me of the puppets from shows like Sesame Street. I find that puppet face style very cute and I tried to make it as accurate as possible. For the hair, I made a brown base and then inserted each hair and knotted it. After that, I did the haircut to even out the ends.

Gracias a que utilicé una base de plástico por dentro de la suela de las sandalias estas tenían bastante firmeza y esto ayuda a que el amigurumi se mantenga de pie, además de la toga la cliente recalco la importancia que hiciera la daga y yo por supuesto que lo hice de manera tal que el amigurumi lo pueda sostener en la mano. En realidad estoy muy feliz de haber logrado este reto 🥰

Thanks to the plastic base I used inside the soles of the sandals, they were quite sturdy, which helped the amigurumi stand upright. In addition to the toga, the client emphasized the importance of making the dagger, and of course, I made it so the amigurumi could hold it. I’m really happy to have accomplished this challenge! 🥰
