Saludos querida comunidad, hace un tiempo me contacto una amiga y cliente para pedirme un amigurumi de la mascota de la aplicación Moca Messenger, esta funciona como chat y también tiene billetera cripto incluida, en encargo en teoría era simple, un amigurumi tamaño llavero, sin embargo, se presentaron algunos retos con este trabajo, pero afortunadamente pude superarlos todos y obtener un buen resultado y por supuesto mi mayor recompensa es la satisfacción del cliente 😊
Greetings dear community, a while ago a friend and client contacted me to order an amigurumi of the mascot from the Moca Messenger app. This app functions as a chat and also includes a crypto wallet. The request was theoretically simple: a keychain-sized amigurumi. However, some challenges arose with this project, but fortunately I was able to overcome them all and achieve a great result. And of course, my greatest reward is the client's satisfaction 😊
Proceso / Process
El primer reto que s eme presentó fue mucho antes de comenzar el trabajo, se trataba de conseguir los hilos del color correcto, pues la figura tiene como colores principales dos tonalidades de rojo, lo cual es un poco difícil de conseguir, el tono claro no podía ser tan claro que se acercara al fucsia, ni tan oscuro que se acerca al otro tono, el tono oscuro sin embargo debía ser rojo pero no vinotinto, casi siempre en las tiendas hay un solo tono de rojo y vinotinto y no era lo que buscaba, pasaron algunas semanas antes de que pudiera conseguir los colores que s eparecerieran lo más posible a la figura y eso me llenó de mucha alegría porque significaba que podía comenzar finalmente a trabajar.
The first challenge I faced was long before I started working on it. It was about getting the threads in the right color, since the design has two shades of red as its main colors, which is a bit difficult to achieve. The lighter shade couldn't be so light that it approached fuchsia, nor so dark that it approached the other shade. The darker shade, however, had to be red but not burgundy. Almost always, stores only have one shade of red and burgundy, and that wasn't what I was looking for. A few weeks passed before I could get the colors that most closely resembled the design, and that filled me with great joy because it meant I could finally start working.
El segundo reto fue determinar de que forma haría el espiral del cuerpo, en principio tenia la idea de hacer un circulo con un espiral hecho con puntos bajos, es decir, trabajaría cada color en la misma hilera, pero cuando lo hice de esa manera el espiral quedaba muy ancho por lo cual tuve que desistir, desarmar el trabajo y comenzar de manera convencional por la piernas, uniendo las piernas para hacer el cuerpo.
The second challenge was determining how to make the spiral of the body. Initially, I had the idea of making a circle with a spiral made of single crochet stitches, that is, I would work each color in the same row. But when I did it that way, the spiral was too wide, so I had to give up, take the work apart, and start conventionally with the legs, joining the legs to make the body.
Hice los brazos aparte y los uní al cuerpo y una vez finalizado el espiral bordado con hilo color crema, de ese modo las proporciones se mantendría bien y el espiral no quedaría ancho.
I made the arms separately and attached them to the body, and once the spiral was finished, I embroidered it with cream-colored thread, so that the proportions would be maintained and the spiral wouldn't be too wide.
El reto que mas me costó superar fue hacer la cabeza, casi siempre las amigurumis me salen a la primera, es decir, la experiencia me ha dado frutos y ahora es muy poco probable que tenga que desramar un trabajo completo, pero esta ocasión tuve que hacer la cabeza varias veces, cuando por fina había armado el amigurumi, la cliente me dijo que la cabeza debía ser menos alta, así que me toco desarmar la cabeza y hacer la nuevo, esta vez no comencé con un anillo mágico sino con cadenas de base, este último intento fue lo acertado y se quedó mucho más parecido a la imagen de referencias, yo termine de madrugada pero sin duda me dejó una gran experiencia haber cumplido con este encargo 😊
The hardest challenge for me was making the head. I almost always make amigurumi on the first try; experience has paid off, and now it's very unlikely I'll have to undo a whole project. But this time, I had to make the head several times. Just when I had finally assembled the amigurumi, the client told me the head should be shorter, so I had to take it apart and make it again. This time, I didn't start with a magic ring but with foundation chains. This last attempt was the right one, and it turned out much more like the reference image. I finished in the early hours of the morning, but it was definitely a great experience completing this order. 😊
