Walking Through the Shopping Center
This time, I’d like to share a photo series taken inside one of the most iconic shopping centers in eastern Caracas. We’re back at Centro Plaza, a space designed with modernity in mind, where the architecture—with its Brutalist finishes—now dances with light and color, though this time we’ll see it through the monochromatic lens of my phone. It may not wield the same level of influence as in years past, but without a doubt, this shopping center remains an undisputed landmark for the city’s residents.

Caminando por el Centro Comercial
En esta oportunidad les quiero presentar una serie fotográfica capturada al interior de uno de los centros comerciales más icónicos del este de la ciudad de Caracas. Regresamos al Centro Plaza, un espacio pensado en la modernidad, donde la arquitectura con acabados brutalistas hoy en día danza con la luz y el color, pero que en esta oportunidad veremos bajo el foco monocromático de mi teléfono. Quizás no cuenta con el mismo nivel de influencia de años anteriores, pero sin duda alguna este espacio comercial sigue siendo un referente indiscutible dentro del colectivo citadino.

Some stores retain those details so characteristic of the last century, while others have embraced the contemporary style of our times, but what matters most here is that it’s an ideal place to stroll in complete tranquility, enjoy a diverse selection, and—on this occasion—capture interesting photographs, where the goal isn’t to seek idyllic perfection, but rather to showcase the reality of this city that has completely stolen my heart.
Algunos negocios conservan esos detalles tan característicos del siglo pasado, mientras que otros han apostado de forma directa hacia la contemporaneidad de nuestros días, pero acá lo más importante es que se trata de un sitio ideal para caminar con total tranquilidad, disfrutar de una oferta variada y, en esta oportunidad,oportunidad, capturar fotografías interesantes, dónde no se busca la perfección idílica, sino en donde se pretende mostrar la realidad de esta ciudad que me ha enamorado por completo.
Caracas is a city dominated by shopping malls; each one tells a different story, each shines with its own unique architectural design, and regardless of their size, they all strive to stand out in the eyes of an increasingly demanding society—one that remains attuned to innovation and development, yet paradoxically has also had to adapt to the difficulties and stagnation of a country that has been quite turbulent in recent years, but which, without a doubt, looks toward a future that promises great opportunities.
Caracas es una ciudad dominada por los centros comerciales, cada uno cuenta una historia diferente, todos brillan bajo un diseño arquitectónico distinto y sin importar su tamaño todos quieren destacar frente a una sociedad que es cada vez más exigente, la cual se mantiene en la onda de la innovación y el desarrollo, pero paradójicamente también se ha tenido que adaptar a las dificultades y estancamientos de un país que en los últimos años ha sido bastante convulso, pero que sin duda alguna mira hacia un futuro que promete grandes oportunidades.
