Happy start to the weekend to all my readers!. I’ve had a couple of very hectic days, but I’m happy to finally sit down, write this post, and share these incredible photos. It took some effort to get them, as, for the first time in months, I found the place completely empty, making it the perfect setting to capture its architecture and interior design. The venue is called Foodkart La Candelaria; it’s a modern bar and restaurant located in the Sambil La Candelaria shopping mall, and its unique selling point is that it features the city's only indoor go-kart track.
This is one of my favorite spots in Caracas, and I think I visit at least once a month, though I have to admit I’ve never actually dared to get on the go-kart track. I always go with the intention of relaxing, having a meal, or grabbing a few drinks with my wife or friends. The reason I choose this place over so many others is its beautiful modern design; it was love at first sight when I walked in for the first time, I believe a couple of years ago now. The walls are very dark, but there is plenty of neon lighting, creating a sense of intimacy even when you’re surrounded by strangers on the busiest days.
Foodkart is located specifically on the Upper Level of Sambil; notably, the go-kart track itself spans two floors and is multi-level. The go-karts are electric and eco-friendly, and in addition to this main attraction, there are play areas for younger children, specifically, an arcade. I’ve enjoyed some of my best karaoke nights here with my fellow choir members on Thursdays starting at 7:00 PM. You can also book the venue for various types of events, and there is live music on Saturdays; in fact, there are special offers for customers every day of the week, which you can check out on their official Instagram: foodkartlacandelaria.
This bar, restaurant, and go-kart track opens at noon, but given its proximity to the mall's food court, it has always struck me as a place that truly comes alive at night, perfect for anyone looking to have fun and grab a drink after work. It makes for an excellent bar; In fact, they host DJ nights on Fridays where you can enjoy some great dancing, all while barely noticing the kids racing in go-karts right above you. For those with a keener interest, there is a small area that serves as a mini-museum where you can learn about the sport—all set in a stylish, dimly lit atmosphere. If you are in Caracas or planning a visit, Foodkart La Candelaria is a must-visit spot if you appreciate elegance and good food. I remember the only reason I didn't celebrate my birthday here was that it was a Wednesday; even though there’s an open bar for the ladies on Wednesdays, and I’m not sure if that’s the case every week—there was no sangria that particular day. All of them—all of them, wanted to celebrate with sangria rather than the beer the guys and I were drinking. I took these photos early that day while scouting for the perfect spot to celebrate with my closest friends... ¡Feliz inicio del fin de semana para todos los que leen!. He tenido un par de días muy complicados, pero felizmente hoy puedo sentarme, redactar estas líneas y compartir estas increíble fotografías que me costó obtener, ya que por primera vez en meses coincidí con este lugar totalmente vacío y perfecto para tomar algunas imágenes de su arquitectura y diseño interior. Este lugar se llama Foodkart La Candelaria, un bar, restaurant moderno que podemos encontrar en el Centro Comercial Sambil La Candelaria, y lo que ofrece como novedad es que tiene la única pista de karting bajo techo de la ciudad.
Este es uno de mis lugares preferidos en Caracas, y creo que lo visito al menos una vez al mes, aunque les confieso que no me he atrevido a subirme a la pista de karting, siempre voy con la intensión de relajarme, comer o tomarme unas copas con mi esposa o amigos; el caso es que elijo este lugar sobre muchos otros por su hermoso diseño moderno, lo cual me enamoró a primera vista la primera vez que entré aquí, creo que hace un par de años ya. Los colores de las paredes son muy oscuros, pero hay mucha iluminación con luces de neón, y esto brinda gran intimidad aunque estés rodeados de extraños en sus días con más movimiento.
El Foodkart se encuentra específicamente en el Nivel Superior del Sambil, pero de igual modo, la pista de karting es de dos pisos y es multinivel. Sus go-karts con eléctricos y ecológicos, y además de esta atracción principal, también se puede contar con otros espacios de juegos para los más pequeños, y me refiero al parque arcade. En este lugar he disfrutado de las mejores noches de karaoke junto a mis amigos coralistas los días Jueves desde las 7:00 pm. Aquí también se puede hacer reservas para varios tipos de eventos, y en ocasiones, los días Sábados hay música en vivo, de hecho todos los días de la semana hay algún beneficio para los clientes, pueden verlo aquí en su instagram oficial: foodkartlacandelaria.
Este Bar. Restaurant y Pista de Karting abre desde las 12 del medio día, pero estando cerca la feria de comida del centro comercial, siempre me ha dado la impresión de que su mejor momento en las noches, para quienes están buscando divertirse y tomarse algo al finalizar el horario laboral. Como bar es perfecto, de hecho, los Viernes hay noche de Dj, se puede bailar delicioso y ni sabes que los más chicos están rodando en sus go-karts sobre ti. Para quienes estamos más interesados, hay un pequeño espacio que funciona como mini museo y puedes obtener información sobre este deporte, todo muy elegante y con luces tenues. Si estás en Caracas o si estás próximo a visitarla, Foodkart La Candelaria es un lugar casi obligatorio si buscas elegancia y buena comida. Recuerdo que el único motivo por el cual no celebré mi cumpleaños aquí fue porque era día Miércoles, y aunque los Miércoles hay barra libre para las chicas, y no sé si es así cada Miércoles, ese día en particular no había sangría, y todas, TODAS ELLAS pretendían celebrar con sangría y no con cervezas como los chicos y yo. Estas fotos las tomé ese día temprano, mientras buscaba el lugar perfecto para celebrar con mis amigos más cercanos...
