Happy start to September everyone! I hope the best things happen for everyone during this ninth month of 2026. As for me, I’m kicking it off with great enthusiasm and a desire to keep giving 100% to everything I’m building in my life, including Hive. So, I’m starting September by posting in my favorite community, Worldmappin. I also want to resume my virtual tour of the Vatican Museums; this will be the fourth post covering that single-day trip. I had originally planned to write five posts about my visit, but months have unintentionally passed between each one. In fact, the day I wrote my third post about these famous museums, an earthquake struck the city where I live, which kept me away for a while from the topics I usually post about on Hive. ¡Feliz inicio del mes de Septiembre para todos! Espero que las mejores cosas ocurran para todos en este noveno mes de 2026. Por mi parte, lo inicio con mucho entusiasmo y ganas de seguir dando el 100% en todo lo que estoy construyendo en mi vida, incluyendo Hive, así que comenzaré Septiembre publicando en mi comunidad preferida, Worldmappin, y además de ello, quiero retomar mi recorrido virtual por los Museos Vaticanos, y este sería ya mi cuarto post de ese viaje de un día. Pretendo hacer cinco post de mi visita a los Museos Vaticanos, pero sin querer ha habido meses de diferencia entre cada uno de ellos, y de hecho, el día que escribí mi tercer post sobre estos populares museos hubo un terremoto en la ciudad donde vivo, y eso me alejó un tiempo de los temas que generalmente suelo publicar en Hive; aún así, les dejo los enlaces de mis tres posts anteriores: 1. Gallery of Tapestries

On this occasion, my photographic tour of the Vatican Museums begins with the Gallery of Tapestries. The cover photo shows the museums' outdoor courtyard, featuring a large vehicle parking area and the Belvedere Courtyard of the Vatican Palaces with its central fountain. I took this shot from the window of one of the many corridors inside the museums; I found the view truly wonderful, and unexpected, given that you don't anticipate seeing such a spacious courtyard after spending hours walking through endless hallways filled with art from various eras. Returning to the Gallery of Tapestries: it literally showcases art woven into tapestries, depicting various scenes from the life of Jesus. I focused particularly on the Resurrection of Christ piece, as it struck me as the most special work in the room; the eyes of Jesus seem to gaze directly at you no matter where you stand. It is truly impressive, and it was the only image that created such an effect. I also want to highlight the ceiling in this gallery; it appears to feature reliefs everywhere, but that is not the case, it is actually an illusion created by Bernardino Nocchi using a technique that simulates depth on a flat surface.

Resurrection of Christ Resurrección de Cristo

En esta oportunidad, mi recorrido fotográfico por los Museos Vaticanos comienza por la Galería de los Tapices. La fotografía de portada es del patio exterior de los museos, donde hay un amplio estacionamiento para vehículos; Patio del Belvedere de los Palacios Vaticanos y su fuente ubicada en el centro. Esta foto la tomé desde las ventanas de alguno de tantos pasillos dentro de los museos, y realmente se me hizo maravilloso, además de que no te esperas ver un patio tan amplio cuando tienes horas caminando por pasillos y pasillos llenos de arte de todos los tiempos. Volviendo a la Galería de los Tapices, ofrece literalmente arte pintado en tapices y que reflejan varias escenas de la vida de Jesús. Hice énfasis en el arte de la Resurrección de Cristo porque me pareció el más especial de todos en esta sala, ya que los ojos de Jesús te ven fijamente, no importa en qué parte te ubiques, es totalmente impresionante y fue el único dibujo que causa esa impresión. En esta galería también resalto el techo, el cual parece que tiene relieves por doquier, pero no es así, es otra ilusión que logró Bernardino Nocchi con su técnica de simularlo sobre una superficie plana.

Map Gallery

We immediately entered the Gallery of Maps, an incredibly long corridor where one can admire ancient maps of Italy featuring every imaginable detail. I would have liked to linger longer to appreciate them or hear more of the history my guide was sharing about each one, but time was short, and there is more to this corridor than just maps. It also houses various sculptures of interest, though not as famous as those we had seen in other galleries and, as you can see in the photos, the ceiling is filled with art, intricate details, paintings, reliefs, and more. The place is so rich in beauty, art, and history that walking through it makes you feel truly special, especially for someone like me, a fan of geography and sculpture. I need to return to this particular gallery, although I have done some research in books and on YouTube since my trip to the Vatican to learn more about it.

Inmediatamente entramos a la Galería de Mapas, un pasillo muy, pero muy largos donde se pueden apreciar mapas muy antiguos de Italia, de todo tipo de características que te puedas imaginar. Me habría gustado detenerme más tiempo para apreciarlos o escuchar un poco más de la historia detrás de cada uno que iba narrando mi guía, pero el tiempo era corto, y en este pasillo no solo hay mapas. Aquí también se encuentran diversas esculturas de interés, aunque no tan populares como otras que ya hemos visto en otras galerías, además, como pueden apreciar en las fotografías, el techo está lleno de arte, detalles, pintura, relieves, etc. Este es un lugar tan cargado de belleza, arte e historia que realmente te sientes especial de estar caminando aquí, especialmente para mí que soy fan de la geografía y las esculturas. Necesito regresar a esta galería en particular, aunque he indagado un poco en libros y youtube luego de mi viaje al Vaticano para aprender más sobre esta galería.

Eventually, I came across another section of the tapestry gallery, one that was better lit and featured works that didn't just depict the life of Jesus... Yes, I’ve written it many times in my posts: the Vatican Museums are incredible, truly special and awe-inspiring. They offer art, elegance, history, and even "celebrities", because, let’s face it, some of these artworks are more famous than actual movie stars! 🤭 I have to mention that I visited this country and city for work, but since it was Rome and the Vatican, I just had to slip away and discover everything the city had to show me. I did such a good job of it that, almost a year later, I’m still writing about it. If you want to visit the Vatican Museums, you really need to book in advance so you can have peace of mind. My ticket cost 40 euros and included a guide who spoke my language, Spanish. Looking at the photos I still have, I might end up going beyond the five posts I originally promised at the start of this one 🤣 there really is so much to say about that day’s visit. I was absolutely exhausted from all the walking and I still didn't see every single gallery, but every step was worth it. ❤️ As you can see in this last selfie, even the floor is a work of art...

Sobieski Room of the Vatican Museums

Al final me topé con otra zona de la galería de los tapices, pero más iluminada y con obras que no solo son referentes a la vida de Jesús... Sí, lo he escrito muchas veces en mis publicaciones, los Museos Vaticanos son lo máximo, son muy especiales e impresionantes, hay arte, elegancia, historia y celebridades, porque vaya que hay obras de arte más famosas que algunas estrellas de cine 🤭 no puedo dejar de mencionarles que visité este país y esta ciudad por motivos de trabajo, pero era Roma, era el Vaticano, yo tenía que escaparme y descubrir todo lo que la ciudad tuviera para mostrarme; lo hice tan bien que ya ha pasado casi un año y sigo escribiendo sobre ello. Para visitar los museos vaticanos tienen que reservar con anticipación para que puedan estar tranquilos. Mi entrada costó 40 euros y tenía un guía incluido que hablaba en mi idioma, español. Veo las fotografías que aún tengo y posiblemente me exceda de esos cinco posts que dije al inicio de este post 🤣 realmente hay mucho que mencionar sobre mi visita de ese día. Quedé muy, muy cansado de tanto caminar y aún así no vi todas las galerías de los museos, pero cada paso valió la pena ❤️ como pueden ver en este último selfie, hasta el piso es arte...
