Storm - poetry

Storm

Storm has passed , leaving behind massive destruction We're already prepared to start the construction The winds stirred up an enormous pile of dust Which has shaken our unshakable trust Standing in the middle of a big mess Noticing we're left behind with much less Some things will be easy to repair Others will need more of our care Now that the dark clouds have moved on The rain drops are also long gone There's room again for the sun And much that needs to be done A heavy weight dissolves And Happiness evolves No need to feel bad About being sad It just needs time Retrieving prime It's okay Simply stay Just wait For fate Cope Hope

Very cool writing and very cool image, at the end after the storm comes the calm, thanks for sharing.

The shape of the poem looked like a tornado upon first viewing. :) I read the verses with fascination as you tried to make it work towards the bottom with less words. Excellent!

Which has shaken our unshakable trust

Nice 'sh' sound, like the wind in a storm.

I loved this poem. It's simple and yet powerful. I loved the imagery and the message behind it. I particularly the pace you set and the way it seems to slow down, even as your words are more soothing at the end. "...Just wait For fate Cope Hope"

I like the way the poem works both in a literal way, but also as a metaphor for any change in life. So often changes can seem like they destroy the old way of life, when often they are needed to clear the way for better things.

Obviously, a hurricane isn't quite the same, as the destruction usually leaves people devastated. But then again, so do changes in relationships etc. It makes me wonder if all these challenges, big or small, aren't just opportunities for growth.

Thanks for sharing your thought-provoking poem.

P.s. I also like the way you've formatted it. It kinda shows the way a storm can fade from its peak.
