IT HAS TO BE SEPTEMBER - PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES

Tcats.jpg

Yes, this has to be September, and evidently it is; but if it weren't, it would surely be a mistake of time, and it is indeed September. And I know it's September because the colors turn strange in time with the silvery light, which comes from a sun trying to shine hidden behind flat clouds that float over the entire valley of the town. And I also know it's September because of the loneliness of those midday hours that drag on, as if they don't want to let the afternoon come to the streets... And people return my greeting trying to be cordial, but inside they want to explode and shout their weariness, and even the dogs that know me bark, letting out an anger they didn't have before... Yes, and it's also the heat and this humidity that seems to invade the whole body and turn clothes into a mass of sweat that suffocates and exhausts... And time, time in September gets confused and goes back and forth without any logic until it blends in with the sadness of the emptying streets... It's September here, and it seems that October, November, and even perhaps December will all be September, just as June, July, and August already were... Because this month isn't just thirty days lined up one after the other, but also, in bad years, it's each day of meager light that flattens everything, and of sweat from the heat and dampness that no one understands, and above all, silent streets, dogs that stare and bark, and people who greet each other with clenched teeth, wanting to shout their deprivation...
