The grounds of the former "Montero" estate are always a good place for walking and photography, but undoubtedly one of the best times for a long walk there is on a foggy morning... And yes, this time I mean "fog" and not "mist," because the beauty of these specific conditions is that you can partially appreciate the rural landscape a few hundred meters on the horizon, without losing that particular magic, that bucolic feeling, that exquisite kind of density that the not-so-dense morning mists bestow upon these places...
About 22 years ago, these lands were part of a single property called "Montero," but certain political and social events typical of recent years in Venezuela led to a large portion of that property being expropriated by the government and distributed to others as they saw fit. However (and fortunately), the land has remained agricultural and livestock-based ever since, leaving the area virtually unchanged, although with a significantly greater number of fences, gates, roads, paths, and a few more small rural dwellings. So, it can be said that the rural essence of these lands has been remarkably well preserved despite everything that has happened here.
Now the former service road of the hacienda is a public road, so this allows me to wander around here at any time without restrictions... But additionally, I have the good fortune to know most of the current users of these lands personally, and that also allows me to open some gates and pass through, and even "jump" over some fences whose wires are loose or slack, without the owners having any objection...
Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
¡Muchas gracias por pasar y apreciar!
