Welcome, friends and followers of this wonderful "WorldmappinCommunity". I am always very happy to be among people who love travel and adventure. For those who don’t know me, I live in Argentina, in a city called Corrientes. It is a charming town, full of natural beauty and heritage charm.

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to return to a place I hadn’t visited since I was 15; it has been wonderful to go back there before turning 59. In truth, it is a town I remember with great fondness, as I spent some very beautiful moments of my adolescence there. This is a “place”—truly beautiful and peaceful to live in. Being a small town, it is home to just over 4,000 inhabitants. To give you an idea of its scale, the town covers fewer than 50 city blocks, many of which still contain vacant plots available for development.

This lovely town has the character of a typical inland village, lacking any prominent urban landscape; as is the case with most places of this kind, the main town square serves as its greatest attraction. It is a place where people gather for social encounters—a tradition that has continued since I was a child, when we would meet up with neighbors for all sorts of activities.

As is common in this type of space—or, more precisely, as is the case in my province—a tribute is paid to a “founding figure” who played a significant role in the city’s history. Another feature to be found in this recreational area, alongside the historical monument, is a sculpture of an animal—included because there is a local zone dedicated to the protection of “native” wildlife.

There are two other major attractions in this lovely “village”: one is the “reserve,” and the other is the small church located across from the town square. I will share more about them in future posts covering the beautiful places and spaces we have in my province—all of which are well worth visiting if you ever make it to this part of the world.

Muchas gracias!!

Returning to a place you have not seen since you were fifteen must have brought back so many memories. It is hard to imagine a town with fewer than fifty blocks these days.

  • Wow 😍 there's something beautiful about quaint small towns. I grew up in the city but wish I too have a hometown to go visit once in a while. 😛 So refreshing to see a lot of open spaces there. The city has its conveniences but nothing beats peace and quiet in one's neighborhood. 😅 An advance happy weekend...
