You may get finished this article and think I'm being a Negative Nancy! And if you do, I apologize, but this just isn't my first rodeo...
Now that I got that out of the way, let's see why I think you may dislike ol' Jongo after today's post...
It's a wee bit of a reality check :)
So Hive surpassed 6 cents today.
Which is a pump of sorts in the market. And seeing that we've been as low as 3 cents recently, this seems like very good news. And on paper it is....That's almost double what it was just a few weeks ago at our lowest lows.
And I opened up @snapie today and heard the crowds in unison....
"Hive is pumping!!!"
It's a moonshot!
And to that I say....Let's slow down. Pump the brakes!
A quick look at all time highs on this blockchain show us that we are still down bad...Like real bad. I remember when people were jumping all in on Hive when it was $1 and started going down....75 cents, 50 cents....
So while sure, it's good to see some positive prices for the token lately, and I'm all for it, let's remember how far we've fallen. Because...And there is a reason for my caution here...
Once we start really pumping and seeing these prices rise to 25 cents and higher, get ready for these kind of posts ot appear everywhere on chain:
"Oh wow, I had some life struggles happen so I had to step away from Hive. But I'm back now and so excited!"
"I always loved this blockchain, I'm so back!"
Take your pick...
The telltale sign for me when Hive is 'back' is when we start seeing those kind of posts appear. Until then, this is just a little positive nudge up in the price.
Nothing more.
And it's great! Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Hive do good. But calling this a 'moonshot' is a bit much and that's what I saw it being called today.
Here's what I'm gonna do, you can follow suit if you want a stoic approach to this stuff.
I'm gonna show up tomorrow. God willing.
I'm gonna create. I'm gonna curate. I'm gonna use the apps here. I'm going to try to add value to others.
Nothing changes for this guy and that's because the markets hold absolutely zero impact on how I feel about Hive.
They never have and never will.
I fell in love with the idea and potential of this blockchain. I've seen it's all time highs and it's all time lows. And while that changes almost daily, the thing that has always mattered most here has remained...
The actual users of it!
I say, we focus on that. Keep building those relationships with the people using the chain now and today. Because I guarantee you this, when Hive is really 'back' is when a flood of the old but new members start to reappear.
And they will look for upvotes. They will look for engagement. That's fine...
I say, focus on who is here, right now! That's what has always mattered.
