If you're not seeing it, then yeah it's happening. Elon musk says he's going to be launching flying cars... Now, whether this is a project that's going to be possible in a year, or two, or maybe 5, we honestly don't know, but Elon Musk does something incredibly well; and that's the powerful of marketing.
This is one of the reasons why he bought Twitter. He's got an incredible list of products he would market in the coming years, and he can basically do this for free on Twitter, let's not forget now ha was able to market his spaceX IPO, how was able to see his SUPER GROK to content creators, using one single platform, X (twitter).
Now. He's not just using the platform to market his products, he has completely cut off the creator's program, thereby eliminating like 60% of the creator's revenue that once went to regular or random content creators, he has increased the subscription fee of X premium.
This means he's not just milking the platform for profit, he's using it as one of the biggest web2 platform to advertise or create awareness for his products. Imagine launching a product, and never having to pay again to advertise whatever product you're selling.
This has always been Elon Musk's plans, not giving people free speeches or helping you to make more money, the idea has always been to have an infinite advertising opportunities for his products, while milking revenue, with Twitter still maintaining its $44B valuation, should Elon decide to actually sell.
Scratch that, the platform is currently worth more than the amount he paid for it, and if he decides to sell today (which I don't think he would cuz the platform is an infinite money glitch).
The possibility of this being big is already established, for example, without a controlling the platform he might not be able to get the message across the way he wants it, and to be very honest, since Elon has announced this.
Content creators have amplified the news by making contents about the news, people are hopping on the news to create attention for themselves, and taking advantage of the attention economy to make money for themselves.
So let's talk about the most important thing, or shall I say "the elephant in the room"
Is the tech necessary to make flying cars currently possible, and available?
Yes, currently it is.
It's no brainer because it's already coming. In the 2000s you would see pictures of flying cars, because they knew that one day it would be possible.
So the tech is there, the problem is currently now it's going to work. For example road travel comes with a lot of regulations, I'm thinking having Flying cars creates a lot more needs to develop regulations for cars that would actually fly. Also, it's interesting to know that even if this car becomes a possibility in 2 to 5 years time, it'll probably be only affordable and accessible to only 0.0001% of the world's population.
Already over 60% of human populations don't own cars, if not, public transportation wouldn't even thrive, so my point is, the cars can probably exist without needing to establish regulations, because it's definitely going to be unaffordable for over 99.9% of world's population.
Imagine only 5 to 10 people having such cars in a population of 200 million people, and about 100 people owning such cars out of like 300 million Americans. Also, I don't think this is an immediate innovation.
Elon is probably just still teasing it to get public reactions, and so far, the public reactions have been mostly humourous, positive and that od admiration, so he's probably certain now that this wouldn't just be ground breaking, he's going to be laying the foundation as a pioneer for flying cars if this ever becomes possible.
