Leaning Woman (an exercise in honor of the artist Henry Moore)
I like to take advantage of dates to pay tribute to figures who are important to me. This time it's Henry Moore.
I didn’t hear of him until the early 1980s (20th century). Then I was able to see some of his works—in person, that is—in the mid-1980s, when Sofía Ímber, the controversial (and also mistreated by the current Venezuelan regime) founder and director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas, organized an exhibition of Henry Moore’s sculptures. I’ll never forget that experience, like so many others I’ve had at that museum.
Thinking about the impression Henry Moore's work titled "Leaning Woman" (or something similar) has made on me, I decided to write this exercise.
In your lines and volumes a woman is made and perpetuated with her voids and connections
Leaning, the woman is earth and flight, perhaps pain is suspended eroticism
In the matter of clay and iron, the woman remains in her eternity
