Art lovers and blockchain enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that I've produced another masterpiece of slap-stick collage makeshift art for your pleasure.
I call this work - Artemis 2 the Moon - because I completed it in April this year of 2026, while the Artemis space ship was making history with the first manned fight around the dark side of the moon.
The work is only now minted as NFT and you can view it at my digital gallery nftshowroom.com along with my numerous other collage remixes there. This is all in the jolly old Hive blockchain, for what it's worth.... not much any more... which is why I'm not taking it too seriously at all. Pure fun and distraction, little more. Perhaps a personal time-stamped diary entry for my older self, and any others who stumble across it here.
Artemis 2 the moon is in a similar theme to my other collages over the years. The scene is of outer space, a sci fi, or surreal fantasy image, like before. The idea is to create a window with depth, thus the planet and beyond it vast outer space.
I've decided this time to mint 100 editions of this NFT, each for sale for the grand price of 1 Hive token each. A giveaway almost, since Hive token is worth today less than $0.05. How the mighty have fallen. Used to be worth a dollar or more, but those days are long gone for all the altcoin industry tokens.
Nevertheless, this Hive blockchain still works well as a store of NFTs so I'm adding this year's artworks to my gallery. That said, this year has been a little austere, and we're only in Q3. I mean the weather storms were rather hectic here in the south coast of Africa in my village. Also the war, although on the other side of the planet, has been unsettling, pushing my fuel price up; income has been scant, and age is wearing us all down.
So creative inspiration has been elusive for me this year, compared to previous. Even the art pieces are done with less care or concern for the final outcome.
The fact that this one even made it all the way to NFT level is admirable. Along with the rare occasion of actually writing this post, my second for this year.
To make my collage, I cut out pictures from old magazines that appeal to me, and then glue them onto an A4+ size sheet of paper, or even a cardboard side of a breakfast cereal box. I like the idea of recycling found objects, since I'm not in the position to spend much money on my hobby, as the third world African peasant that I am.
Once the pictures are fitted together with glue, the finished product is scanned to digital format and then minted as NFT. It's a lot of fun to pass the time, of which I have a lot, being very wealthy in that regard. After all, time is worth more than money. And I should know. I've been spending time like there's no tomorrow here in Africa. And I still have so much of it on my hands.
That's why I'm able to splash it out here, randomly sprouting fantasy doodles and writing arbitrary diary entries for no one and nothing. All just to spend my time.
