Header 4 What does a pool at a five-star hotel in the heart of Bangkok's shopping and business district look like?
On our last day in Bangkok, we kept the morning free and enjoyed our time at the Berkeley Hotel Pratunam. We took the opportunity to buy souvenirs from the neighboring shops and enjoy the pool. We also documented our last buffet breakfast at the hotel, then went to play in their entertainment area.
Here's a video I took while at the hotel for the last time:
In this video, you'll see how we enjoyed our buffet breakfast. The food in this hotel was always good, and we always ate a lot just to make sure that we were full and then heading out for tours, but this time, we decided to enjoy and eat slowly. We still had a lot of time before check-out, though.
Also, I took this opportunity to take photos of the buildings around, which can be seen from the pool area.
There's a bar at the pool area, but it's empty. We never had the chance to check the pool in the past few days that we've been staying here, so we weren't sure if there's a bar here at night or what. But this is actually cool, especially that the chairs here are in the pool. Just a little dangerous, though, in case some food or drinks spill into the pool.
The Berkeley Pratunam offers two swimming pools: one big at the main tower, which is what we were enjoying in these photos, and a smaller one in the north tower where our room was located. It was near the gym, but we opted to enjoy this one instead: the main pool.
What's more interesting is this side of the pool, which was made of glass! So swimming would mean your body gets to be seen from the side! It is not your ordinary pool after all!
My son got totally curious! This glass is super thick, and those plants at the sides gave the pool this Egyptian kind of style- just my own cents, though but it did feel like royalty.
As for the depth of the pool, I believe it was not too deep in all areas, probably just around 4 feet! There's a separate area for kids too, which was way narrower.
Thankful to my husband for bringing a camera so he could take shots of us while swimming. My niece approved the pool design too! They did very well; the design was well thought out!
Now here are the shots of what we could see from the pool area. You'll find the buildings around, the highways, and the community.
As we were able to walk around the neighborhood on our first day, we figured that the surroundings were filled with the reality of life - the common people eating at restaurants and eateries, motorcycles filled with goods, and stuff out for delivery, and all of that. There were so many similarities to our own country too! Despite being inside this five-star hotel, I kept thinking about how the other people around me were doing.
I am pretty sure that these communities around are filled with workers living. The alley shows there are so many lives and stories from different walks of life just trying to survive in those corners.
So, that's it. How do you find the pool? I would say that this hotel did well with the pool design and how clean it was; the showers on the sides and comfort rooms are available for those who would like to change or dry off before going back to their rooms.
Thank you for reading!
