Hello, Sketchbook friends! Today I want to share my latest digital fan art with you. This time, I wanted to depict a girl sitting directly on the ground, completely exposed to a rainstorm. My main goal with this illustration was to convey a deep sense of melancholy, yet also one of calm and acceptance. To achieve this, I decided to move away from complex coloring and opt for a minimalist approach: I created the piece using a "line-only" style (pure line art). I believe that relying solely on clean strokes gives the image a unique visual impact, allowing every curve and detail to take center stage without the need for heavy lighting or shading.
The biggest challenge was capturing the texture of the falling rain and the water splashing around the subject using only fine lines. I wanted the viewer to be able to almost hear the droplets when looking at the drawing. I loved playing with digital brush thicknesses to add dynamism to the pose and the way the wet hair falls. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi más reciente fan art digital, En esta ocasión, quise representar a una chica sentada directamente en el suelo, completamente expuesta bajo una tormenta de lluvia.Mi objetivo principal con esta ilustración era transmitir una profunda sensación de melancolía, pero también de calma y aceptación. Para lograrlo, decidí alejarme de los coloreados complejos y optar por un enfoque minimalista: trabajé la pieza con un toque de "solo líneas" (line art puro). Creo que el uso exclusivo de trazos limpios le da una fuerza visual única, donde cada curva y cada detalle cobran un protagonismo absoluto sin necesidad de recurrir a luces o sombras pesadas.
El mayor reto fue plasmar la textura de la lluvia cayendo y el agua impactando a su alrededor utilizando únicamente líneas finas. Quise que el espectador pudiera casi escuchar las gotas al ver el dibujo.
