Hello, my dear otaku friends. A few days ago, I revisited a classic anime that I love and that fills me with nostalgia: Ranma ½. While watching the episodes, I realized there is one specific character who always made me laugh out loud with her antics: Shampoo. She is the charming Amazon warrior whose mix of sexiness, stubbornness, and a somewhat wild streak always ended up complicating things for Ranma and Akane. I really love how she shifts from being a fierce fighter to an incredibly affectionate (and sometimes very manipulative!) girl whenever she is around her "husband." Plus, I’ve always thought her visual design—with that striking purple hair and traditional outfits—was fantastic.
Inspired by that spark and the character's fun personality, I decided to grab my art supplies and create a little tribute. I started with a pencil sketch, aiming to capture her mischievous, cheerful expression. Then, I drew and colored the illustration using watercolors. Working with this medium was quite a challenge—especially getting the transparency of her clothes and the exact shades of her hair right—but I truly enjoyed every brushstroke of the process. I’m really happy with the final result, which is why I wanted to share it with you all today. What do you think of how it turned out? Hola, mis queridos amigos otakus. Hace unos días volví a disfrutar de este anime clásico que me encanta y me llena de nostalgia: Ranma ½. Viendo los episodios, me di cuenta de que hay un personaje en específico que siempre me hacía reír a carcajadas por sus locuras. Se trata de Shampoo, la encantadora guerrera amazona que, con su personalidad un poco sexy, testaruda y algo alocada, siempre terminaba enredando las cosas para Ranma y Akane.Me gusta mucho cómo cambia de ser una feroz luchadora a una chica sumamente cariñosa (¡y a veces muy manipuladora!) cuando está cerca de su "esposo". Además, su diseño visual, con esos llamativos cabellos morados y sus atuendos tradicionales, siempre me ha parecido fantástico.
Inspirada por esa chispa y la diversión del personaje, decidí tomar mis materiales de arte para rendirle un pequeño homenaje. Primero hice un boceto a lápiz buscando capturar su expresión pícara y alegre. Después, dibujé y coloreé la ilustración utilizando acuarelas. Trabajar con este medio fue todo un reto para lograr las transparencias de su ropa y los tonos exactos de su cabello, pero disfruté muchísimo cada pincelada del proceso.El resultado final me dejó muy contenta y por eso quería compartirlo hoy con todos ustedes. ¿Qué les parece cómo quedó? ¿Cuál era su personaje favorito o el que más los hacía reír en Ranma ½? ¡Los leo en los comentarios!
