I once read something in a book, though I can no longer remember its title. It said that when we were children, our dreams were so clear. But as we grew older, we slowly drifted away from those dreams and took a different path. Eventually, the dreams we once had as children began to fade. Do you believe this is true?
Back in elementary days, I already had a clear dream. I wanted to have a flower plantation and my own flower shop. Where did this dream begin? Our school had so many different kinds of flowers, and I was always attracted to them. I also admired how beautifully the flowers were arranged in our church. I guess that was where my interest in having a floral business started.
In fact, there was a large piece of land not too far from our house that I thought would be perfect for growing flowers. I would often imagine turning that place into a flower plantation. Whenever I saw flowers, I would arrange them myself because I really enjoyed doing it.
Maybe the book I read was right because that is how it happened to me. As I grew older, my once-clear dream of having a floral business slowly became blurry. By the time I reached high school, I already had different dreams, and the path I took was completely different from the one I had imagined as a child. But whenever I see flowers, I am reminded of that childhood dream.
While walking along Hilongos Street with my mom, we came across a flower shop. It was not like the other flower shops with beautiful and fancy displays. What caught my attention and made me stop walking was the flowers they had on display. I could not help myself, so I asked the attendant if I could take some photos. Luckily, she agreed!
I don't know why, but whenever I see flowers, they always make me smile. Do you feel the same way? While we were there, I shared my childhood dream with my mom, and she simply smiled.
I don't know if I will ever achieve that dream, but maybe there is still a chance. For now, while I don't have enough resources to start a flower business, I can begin by learning more about flowers and how to grow their different varieties properly. I want to fill my mind with knowledge that might be useful someday.
Who knows? Maybe the dream I had as a child is not completely gone. Perhaps it is just waiting for the right time to bloom, just like a flower.
