I watched this movie about a month ago and decided to do a review on it after seeing it in my movie list today. It is very interesting I must admit and I watched it because a colleague of mine highly recommended it. If you read my reviews you would know I love mystery a lot and this movie is full of mysteries. It was very hard for me to accurately predict the movie and that was one of the major reasons I fell in love with this move. This movie would mess with your psychology in a way so be very careful if you are someone who is very emotional or takes things to heart because this movie will mess up your mind.
The movie started with a family of three, Father, mother and their daughter on a road trip back home after Thanksgiving. The Father Reay and the mother Joanne were a couple who had issues in their marriage and Ray also had some psychological issues he was dealing with. He stops by the gas station for gas when the unexpected happens. First his daughter sees a stray dog that frightens her and when Ray comes to investigate the issue he ends up falling into a construction hole with his daughter.
Ray rushes his daughter to the hospital after passing out in the hole when he fell through and hit his head, his wife could not stop blaming him for what happened. It seemed like the daughter had broken her hand and needed urgent medical attention. On reaching the hospital, the doctor requested they do a CT on the daughter to check for internal head injuries and so his wife accompanies their daughter for the scan while Ray waits in the waiting area. He falls asleep in the process of waiting only for him to wake up to realize his wife and daughter hadn’t returned. Going to look for them, the receptionist told him that no one by their names had come to the hospital that day.
This is where things become interesting because the more Ray probs them the more it looks like his head injury is making him hallucinate. No one seemed to know where they were, his stories were becoming conflicting and it was becoming hard to distinguish between reality and imagination. Ray remembers seeing some suspicious activities in the hospital, but even that had its own contradictions. He eventually calls the police and they begin to investigate Ray’s statement and find a lot of inconsistencies.
Convinced that his wife and daughter were abducted Ray takes matters into his own hands and searches every area of the hospital, he walks into an operating room where he sees doctors operating on his daughter and decides to take her out of there. But that was when the truth started coming to light, everything had changed from the moment they were had the gas station and his daughter fell into that construction site, Turned out his daughter and his wife both fell inside the hole and died, I would have loved to say how it happened, but if you are reading this, it would be better you find out yourself.
