As I was going through more photos from this town, one thing caught my attention — its colors. I have the feeling that Vibo Valentia is dominated by shades of yellow, orange and beige. The colors are a little faded, marked by time, and in some places you can even see the plaster coming away. But all of this together creates the authentic character of Vibo Valentia. And I think that is exactly what charmed me so much.
Przeglądając kolejne zdjęcia z tego miasteczka, moją uwagę przykuła pewna rzecz, a mianowicie kolory. Mam wrażenie, że całe miasteczko dominuje w żółciach, pomarańczach oraz w beżach. Kolory są co prawda trochę przykurzone. Widać na nich ząb czasu, czasem nawet odpadający tynk. Ale wszystko to razem wzięte tworzy autentyczny charakter Vibo Valentia, który tak bardzo mnie oczarował.
Among the old walls and stone steps, decorative elements appeared here and there, adding a little more life and character to the streets.
Pomiędzy starymi murami i kamiennymi schodami co jakiś czas pojawiały się elementy dekoracyjne, które dodawały tym uliczkom trochę życia.
Old windows, shutters and balconies were another element that caught the eye — or at least mine. I don’t know how it is for you, but when I’m on holiday, I pay a lot of attention to details like these. You can often spot different stories in them, and sometimes even get a glimpse of the residents’ personal tastes.
Stare okna, okiennice i balkony były kolejnym elementem, który przyciągał wzrok, a przynajmniej mój. Nie wiem, jak jest u Was, ale ja, będąc na urlopie, bardzo zwracam uwagę na takie szczegóły. Można w nich dostrzec różne historie, a czasem także upodobania mieszkańców.
During my walk around the town, two buildings especially caught my attention. The first one was the town hall, PALAZZO LUIGI RAZZA. It is probably one of the more distinctive and representative buildings in the town center. The town hall is the seat of the municipal authorities of Vibo Valentia and has undergone modernization work over the years. Its most striking feature is the central clock and bell tower, which is why, apart from photographing the whole facade, I also took a few closer shots of the details.
Podczas mojej przechadzki po tym miasteczku moją szczególną uwagę zwróciły dwa budynki. Pierwszy to ratusz, czyli PALAZZO LUIGI RAZZA. Jest to chyba jeden z bardziej charakterystycznych i reprezentacyjnych budynków w centrum. Ratusz jest siedzibą władz miejskich Vibo Valentia. Był swego czasu poddawany pracom modernizacyjnym. Największą uwagę zasługuje tutaj centralna wieża z zegarem i dzwonem, dlatego też oprócz całej fasady zrobiłam również kilka bliższych ujęć detali.
The second building is SCUOLA PRIMARIA DON BOSCO, a primary school that belongs to the local school complex. The building stood out because of its symmetrical facade and arched architectural elements. In recent years, the school has undergone work related, among other things, to structural safety and seismic upgrading.
Drugim budynkiem jest SCUOLA PRIMARIA DON BOSCO, czyli szkoła podstawowa należąca do miejscowego zespołu szkolnego. Budynek ten wyróżniał się swoją symetrią fasady oraz łukami. Szkoła w ostatnich latach przechodziła prace związane między innymi z bezpieczeństwem konstrukcji i dostosowaniem antysejmicznym.
There wasn’t one single shot that stood out above all the others. Instead, there were lots of small details that together created a very photogenic whole.
Nie było tam jednego kadru, który wygrał ze wszystkimi. Za to było mnóstwo małych rzeczy, które razem stworzyły bardzo fotogeniczną całość.
