365 Ways to Say NO! [ ENG/SPA]

image.jpg

Hello, dear Ladies of Hive! Today I’m speaking to you from my own experience, because I’ve been through this myself more times than I’d care to admit. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve automatically said “yes” just to help out, to avoid looking bad, or to please others. Without realizing it, I’d put other people’s needs ahead of my own, ignoring my own tiredness and exhaustion. The result was always the same: enormous stress, ending up emotionally drained, and even taking on problems that weren’t even mine. Taking on things we can’t or don’t want to do ends up taking a toll on our bodies and deeply affecting our physical and mental health. That’s why I’ve come to understand that learning to say NO! doesn’t make you a bad person or mean slamming the door shut; it’s actually a beautiful and sincere act of self-love.

Setting boundaries doesn’t mean arguing or being rude—it means speaking calmly and clearly. There are very simple ways to protect our personal space without hurting anyone: «Thank you so much for thinking of me, but I won’t be able to this time. » «I’d love to help you, but today my body and mind are telling me I need a break. » «I really appreciate that you’re thinking of me, but I just don’t have enough time right now. »

I call this 365 Ways to Say NO, not because we need a list of excuses, but because every day of the year gives us a new opportunity to protect our time, our energy, and our personal space. Every time we say “no” to overload and guilt, we’re giving ourselves a serene and beautiful “YES.” Taking care of our peace of mind is, in the end, the most beautiful gift we can give ourselves.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, filled with peace and beautiful moments. And if you still find it hard to say “no,” I want to remind you that you’re not alone and that today is the perfect time to start. Remember that your peace of mind is non-negotiable. If you’re in the process of learning to set boundaries, I’m sending you a big hug; we’re here to support each other, ladies!

¡Hola, queridas Ladies of Hive!

I learned that a long time ago, too: learning to say “no” improves your health. If we don’t set boundaries, we always end up with headaches. Great words ☺️

Great post and a thoughtful reflection. It’s so true—sometimes we find it hard to say no, for many reasons. And yet, often when we need something, we get a "no" in return, haha. Cheers!

I love your mindset it is true that if you reject something doesn't mean you're being rude. You are honest about your feelings and others should respect that. I think people find it hard to accept a "no" from someone.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Saber No GIF

  • Hello, dear @lanenadecorazon1! 🌸

You’ve shared such necessary and healing words today. How often have we found ourselves saying an automatic "yes" out of fear of making a bad impression or because we’ve taken on responsibilities that aren't even ours to carry!

What you say is so true: learning to say "no" isn't an act of selfishness, but rather the greatest act of self-love we can gift ourselves to protect our mental and physical health. I loved the options you shared for setting boundaries with respect and kindness; they serve as a perfect guide to remind us that our peace is non-negotiable.

Thank you for opening your heart and reminding us that we aren't alone in this process. Sending you a huge hug, dear lady!
