Hello Hive Fam, most especially all the wonderful pet lovers around the world! 💕

Today, I want to share something heavy on my heart. As many of you know, part of my side hustle is taking care of my neighbor’s chickens. They are not mine, but over time, I treated them as if they were; feeding them daily, watching them grow, and even talking to them like they were part of my little circle of pets.
Recently, something unexpected and heartbreaking happened. Two of the male chickens I used to care for got into a cockfight. It wasn’t planned, it wasn’t wanted. It just happened suddenly, as roosters sometimes do when instincts take over. Sadly, one of them didn’t survive. 💔
I can’t explain how much this incident shook me. Even though they weren’t my own, I had grown attached to them. Every day I saw their personalities: one more dominant, the other calmer, yet both full of life. To witness that bond end in such a tragic way made me realize how fragile life is, even for the animals we care for.

This side hustle started as just a responsibility, but it became more than that. It became a connection. Losing one of the roosters felt like losing a pet of my own. I’m still sad, but I wanted to share this with the Hive Pets Community because I know you understand how deep our love for animals can go, even when they aren’t officially ours.
**Thank you for reading my story. **Sharing this grief with you helps lighten the burden, and I hope it reminds us all to cherish the pets we care for; whether they’re ours or entrusted to us. 🐓💖 Have a great weekend ahead despite life's challenges. Well, these challenges are really part of life. We can't avoid them. Huhu!
