Does money change us, or just reveals who we truly are?

Money can definitely drive greed and self-aggrandizing-it often comes out that money really is the root of all evil. But even so, money by itself has no value; money are just numbers, bits of paper, a tool that facilitates our lifestyle.

What makes it so evil is the individual's intent, how they want to use the money.

So many people change, when their bank account and personal worth explode exponentially. They tend to think themselves too cool or important. They might try to belittle and abuse those beneath them, just to acquire more wealth and status, more power and authority.

In my opinion, I wouldn't ever brag or be honored to posses more money than others. Who will want fancy cars, giant homes, name brand clothes, and millions of cash when we don't even have the ability to take any of them with us upon death, anyway. All of our belongings and we too will be left behind.

No one's memories of us will be regarding the amount of money we accumulated over a lifespan, nor of our expensive belongings.

It will be how we carried ourselves and treated others.

If I ever had a good fortune, then I would accept and permit the money to transform me into a person that is considerate and caring; it should contribute me to becoming more charitable. I would give financial support, help the needy, financially aid families who have suffered great hardship, provide opportunities for the disfavored, and give in proportion to what is required and without receiving any credit or favor. I would believe that having financial backing would enable me to exert more influence toward good causes, not over people themselves.

However, being good and charitable is not enabling oneself to be looked down upon by people. I have heard many people saying that Kindness is equated to foolishness. If I am devalued or insulted simply due to monetary situation of other people, then I will not tolerate waste my moment convincing a snob that he was wrong, because the way that they seem me does not effect nor reflect on whom I actually am.

I guess money can finally reveal our true characters rather than having our traits erased, it is a blessing given unto our lives, it shouldn't ever remove our modesty, kindness, and ability to be honest or to regard those near. If I ever become a person affected by a blessing, then I would just hope that it makes me generous, in place of turning myself into someone who completely forgets their origin.
