Lumen: the first six days

Screenshot (2409).png

The launch announcement went out on the 9th, and the feedback since has been direct and useful, which is extremely appreciated.

Here is the post launch fixes applied and features shipped.

Names and identity

What Where it stands
Your Lumen name is yours A Hive account registered after a Lumen lite handle can no longer take it over. Contested names resolve to whoever held them first, checked against on-chain registration dates, and the squatter's content is hidden.
Automatic sweep The squatter check runs on a schedule and every worker on the site shares one list.

Moderation

What Where it stands
A ban applies everywhere Feed, comment threads and the notification bell, on every path, not just the pages that show posts.
Appeals Flagged accounts get a route to appeal in the Magi Discord.
Blocked authors Filtered on every feed path, including reposted container shells.
Adult content Detection widened

Feed

What Where it stands
Seen posts stop coming back The feed tracks what it has already shown you on every path, including the server-rendered home page, so repeats fall away as you read.
Recency that means something A reply from a minute ago now outranks a follow from six weeks ago. Fresh engagement carries the weight.
The page holds still while you read New posts wait at the top behind "Show N new posts", and that stays accepted when you move between pages.
Hive builders card New right-rail board: what Hive developers are actually shipping, eight slots flipping writer and post every 30 seconds, built from each builder's own posts.
Profile comments Every reply links straight to the post it sits under.

Meritum

Screenshot (2410).png

What Where it stands
Public creator page at /m/name Open it with no account: price, chart, what the creator offers and what it costs, buy, sell, request, message. /creators/name redirects to it, and every profile carries a Meritum pill.
Share cards Each page renders its own card, so the link previews properly in Discord or on X instead of showing a bare URL.
Deposit HBD in one click Hive accounts get a Deposit button in the Buy dialog instead of memo instructions to copy by hand.
Dialogs sized to the window Buy stays reachable on any screen.
Straight answers from the Studio When the chain rejects a call, the Studio now names the actual reason instead of a generic failure.
New market status A new market explains exactly what opens its paid-request rail: trades spread across time, not a number you can hit in one afternoon.
Launch costs up front The wizard states the HBD to hold on Magi and budgets on what the chain really charges.
Request button Direct route into the Magi Discord from a creator's page.

Contract update: built and tested, live with the next deploy

What Where it stands
Commission paid in tokens The 12% is carved out of the escrow in the creator's own token, so holding the token is all you need to buy the service. An ask moves no HBD at all.
Monthly listing fee deleted Not zeroed, removed. No renewal, no lapse, no expiry. A market is live from launch until the creator retires it.
Escrow proven end to end Order, escrow, decline, answer, deadline, reclaim, run against the exact contract bytes that go to mainnet, with the refund arithmetic checked at every step.

Everything above this section is already on the site. These three go live with the next contract update.

Next up is the contract update above, and more of the Meritum surface, creator pages included, being made to work for people arriving from outside Hive entirely. There is more work needed on Magi to fully enable crosschain usability. Specifically a payment path for USDC and ETH. There multichain wallet interoperability is there, we just need to activate the bridge that brings the funds here.

The idea, "Share your Meritum card anywhere, receive buys and orders from EVM, BTC and Hive users in 1 click."

Keep it coming. The harsh feedback is still the useful kind.

The whole buying Meritum with HBD was the barrier for me. Waiting to collect a few Hive to convert to HBD to try it out. Any day now.

Is there any public dashboard to see stats regarding the activity, interactions and so? If not, would you consider adding it? If I were a non-Hivean, I'd definitely look for something of this kind before registering.

  • No offerings are possible yet, because apparently the tokens need to be traded first to some extent. But who wants to buy tokens, if nothing can be done with them yet? A classicel hen and egg problem. Is this dead before it started to live, due to unnecessary restrictions?
